Dogs are famous for their devotion, sticking close, guarding fiercely, and weathering life’s ups and downs alongside their humans. Yet even the most faithful companion can recognize when a situation isn’t worth the trouble.
Evie, a quirky Jack Russell Greyhound mix, is affectionate and loyal, but she also knows when to step back. Her recent antics during a flood in Illinois left viewers in stitches.
Caught on a pet cam, Evie calmly ignored the rising water, appearing to say, “this one’s not my problem.”
A Hilarious Retreat From Trouble

Daisy Silva, Evie’s owner, was reviewing her pet cam footage to monitor flooding in her Illinois home when she stumbled upon an unexpectedly funny scene.
Evie approached the waterlogged room with caution. Instead of panicking, she delivered a flawless exit.

After sniffing the water, she decided it wasn’t worth her attention and spun around to leave.
Her retreat was executed with precision.
She avoided stepping in the water entirely, climbing the stairs safely and leaving the mess behind.
“Our dog said y’all can deal with this one,” wrote Daisy in the video.
Daisy shared the clip on TikTok, where it quickly went viral. Thousands of viewers laughed at Evie’s dramatic yet calculated departure.
One commenter wrote: “The way he’s walking! I spat my food!!!”
“Dog said ‘I don’t get paid enough treats to deal with this,’” another person joked.
“Not him walking like he’s grossed out by the water,” added a third user.
A Comedic Heart With Deep Bonds

Evie joined Daisy’s household at just five weeks old, rescued alongside her littermates after being abandoned. While her timing for comedy is impeccable, she is far from distant.
She is deeply attached to Daisy’s daughter and the other children in the family, often acting as a gentle guardian and playful nanny.
“She’s a Jack Russell Greyhound mix and has the most gentle touch for kids. She has a ton of cousins to play with, and loves to play fetch with her sister,” wrote Daisy in another TikTok.

Evie’s main worry isn’t water, but being separated from her loved ones. She experiences separation anxiety when her humans are away.
“Because of her trauma, she struggles with separation anxiety. Sometimes she doesn’t eat while mom and dad are at work but she loves food,” added Daisy.
Thankfully, she is rarely left alone. Surrounded by affection and constant attention, Evie is cherished more than words can convey.
“She’s healthy, strong, spoiled, beautiful, and loved,” the Illinois owner concluded.
