Every day is a new chance to save the life of an innocent animal in need. And the most stunning thing about it? You never know when you might cross paths with one.
Dog rescuers know this all too well, and thanks to their long-time experience and cooperation, they’ve learned how to act promptly. So, when Kris, a California rescuer, spotted a tiny pup left tied to a residential trailer, she knew exactly what to do.
Within hours, a team of dedicated volunteers arrived on the scene, ready to provide the much-needed help to the puppy.
Five-Pound Lovebug
Kris Kelly, the founder of The Kris Kelly Foundation, was both heartbroken and shocked when she realized the puppy was tied to the trailer for days.
She contacted Suzette Hall, of Logan’s Legacy, who was already in the area with her colleague, Arturo. Hall, who was on a rescuing mission to save chickens, didn’t hesitate at all.
Instead of returning home, they changed their route and arrived at the spot. The only problem was, the puppy wasn’t there.
Still, Arturo and Suzette were determined to find the puppy. They searched the area, looking for a clue. Eventually, they decided to knock on the trailer’s door.
Shockingly, a man opened the door, claiming ownership of the puppy. However, as soon as the California rescuers made an inquiry about him, the man offered to give him up.
“He wasn’t outside so we decided to knock on the trailer. We were determined to get him. The owner didn’t even hesitate, he said ‘Do you want him,’ and within minutes he was safe in our hands. I couldn’t believe how small he actually was,” Hall wrote in the post.
Later named Remi, the pup seemed so scared. He was shaking until Hall finally took him in her hands. The next thing he knew was a moment of relief and trust, as if he knew that everything would be alright.

Hall couldn’t be more grateful for having given Remi a new chance. After the rescue, he was already in her car, eager to start a new chapter of his life.
Upon a vet exam, Remi was diagnosed with a mild case of mange and needed medical treatment for a few days. Fortunately, Hall knew just the perfect place to go to. Remi was successfully taken in by The Forgotten Dog Foundation, which found him a nice foster home.
“He is the sweetest. I am so thankful to The Forgotten Dog for taking him into your loving paws. And thank you so much, Kris. This baby is furever safe and gets everything he needs,” Hall concluded.
From now on, Remi will no longer worry about being tied to a trailer. His days are now filled with love, playtime and endless cuddles, just as he longed for.
When the time is right, Remi will be ready to meet his forever family. But for now, he’s just happy to be safe.
