North Carolina Puppy Spots “Another Dog” On Phone Screen And Steals The Show

Having a dog or puppy is a joy that many people know from personal experience.

Phill, who lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his girlfriend, Lindsey Patterson, had seen how much happiness a furry companion could bring and wanted one of his own.

Lindsey put it off for a long time, but one day, she decided to surprise him. That day, she announced that the newest member of their family was a Havanese puppy named Penny.

Phill was thrilled, and the little pup brought happiness to Lindsey too.

Lindsey, who works with influencers, filmed their new puppy on her first day and shared the clip of Penny meeting her new dad on her TikTok account, @linzpatt.

The video gained far more attention than she expected. Since TikTok viewers instantly fell for Penny, Lindsey began regularly posting videos of her.

Almost every post was a hit, but the one she shared on September 4, 2024, went viral.

Inspired by a TikTok trend where people leave kids, friends, or pets in front of a phone camera and ask viewers to “watch” them, she decided to try it with Penny.

The video begins with Lindsey’s words “Can you guys watch my dog for a second?” before stepping away and leaving Penny in front of the phone.

At first, Penny doesn’t react, but when she notices herself in the camera, things change. Believing another dog is staring back at her, she starts barking and growling, ready to stand her ground despite her tiny size.

That’s when Patterson returns and ends the moment with,  “Thanks, that’s all.”

From Phone Clip To Fame

As mentioned, nearly every Penny video on TikTok drew attention. The puppy became so well-known that people recognized her not only in Charlotte, North Carolina, but also in other cities.

Still, the clip of her facing the “other dog” on the phone truly catapulted her into fame, reaching millions of viewers. The reactions poured in, and a few stood out.

“She literally yelled and threw hands at us 🥰,” one user wrote.

“10/10 she’s very sassy but I’d definitely watch again 🥰🤣,” another added.

The third quipped: “Omg so cute. I have Havanese dogs too and they are still adorable as adults.”

According to the American Kennel Club, Havanese dogs are especially popular in the U.S. for their charm and sociability, ranking as the 25th most-registered breed.

After this video, it wouldn’t be surprising if they moved up several spots on that list.
