New Jersey Puppy Found Sick And Hungry By The Road Slowly Turns Into A Beautiful Surprise

As kids, so many of us imagine what it would be like to have a Disney character as a pet, whether that means Winnie the Pooh, Donald Duck, or sweet little Bambi.

For most people, that kind of dream stays tucked away in childhood. But for Julia Fraticelli of New Jersey, it turned into something real when she found a fragile puppy named Apricot. At the time, Apricot was tiny, weak, and struggling to hold on.

No one could have guessed what she would grow into. With her soft brown fur and delicate white spots, Apricot now looks strikingly like the beloved Disney deer, and she brings a smile to nearly everyone who sees her.

From Struggling to Survive To Thriving At Home

Despite her charming appearance, Apricot’s beginning was anything but magical.

When Julia discovered her months ago on a roadside in New Jersey, Apricot was severely underweight, covered in worms, and barely clinging to life. Her once-bright eyes reflected exhaustion and hunger from her time alone on the streets.

Julia couldn’t bear to walk away. She carefully picked up the frail pup and took her home, determined to give her the care she desperately needed.

“8 months ago: off the side of the road, filled with worms, hadn’t eaten in days, a few days left to live. Now: healthy, happy, cuddles, full life ahead of her to live,” Julia wrote on TikTok.

With love, patience, and good food, Apricot slowly began to heal. Within weeks, her energy returned, her coat regained its shine, and she started to trust again.

As Apricot’s health improved, so did her popularity. Julia shared videos of her transformation online, and soon, the little pup went viral. Viewers everywhere were enchanted by her Bambi-like looks and gentle personality.

Comments poured in, with fans saying she looked straight out of a Disney movie.

“If u didn’t call her deer or Bambi then you missed out,” one commenter wrote.

“I’ve seen enough, get this good boy some antlers,” another joked.

“She looks like a Disney Princess,” added a third.

Julia confirmed that Apricot’s middle name really is “Bambi,” a fitting tribute to her resemblance to the beloved animated deer.

A Dream Life For Apricot, The Real-Life Bambi

Today, Apricot is a healthy, cheerful pup who loves to curl up beside her mom and soak in all the attention she can get. She enjoys long cuddle sessions and her favorite chew sticks, which she guards proudly.

Her happiness doubled when she met her furry sister, a Shih Tzu who quickly became her best friend.

At first, Julia worried how Apricot might react to sharing her space, but her fears quickly disappeared. The two dogs became inseparable almost immediately, playing, napping, and snuggling side by side every day.

From a starving stray to a joyful, cherished companion, Apricot’s transformation has been nothing short of extraordinary. Once fighting for survival, she
