California Puppy Drags Injured Paws Into Stranger’s Yard And Silently Asks One Woman For Help

Life without a home is difficult for any stray dog, but for a young puppy it can feel overwhelming. With no mother to shield her and no safe corner to sleep in, each day becomes a test of endurance.

Mystic, a tiny pup, was living that reality. She was injured, hungry, and clearly in need of help.

As she made her way through a quiet neighborhood in California, her small paws dragging with exhaustion, she spotted a calm yard that looked like a place to pause.

Using the last bit of strength she had, she curled up in the grass and stayed there, hoping someone would see her.

A Small Pup In Desperate Need

When Jaymee Cisneros visited her parents’ house while they were away, she noticed a small puppy curled up in the corner of the yard.

As Jaymee approached, the pup looked up, locking eyes with her, as if silently pleading for help.

At first, the puppy hesitated, but then she began wagging her tail softly, sensing kindness.

Cisneros carefully picked her up and immediately noticed that the dog, later named Mystic, was injured.

Cisneros reached out to her friends at Tanya’s Adoption Network 4 Young Animals, a California-based rescue group, explaining the urgent need for care.

The rescue agreed to take Mystic in. While waiting for their arrival, Cisneros brought the little dog inside and gently bathed her. Mystic seemed to relax, feeling comforted and safe for the first time in what seemed like ages.

Wrapped in a soft towel, Mystic gave her rescuer grateful looks, her big eyes full of trust.

Soon, exhaustion took over, and Mystic drifted into a deep sleep. When she woke up, she was given a full meal, which she eagerly devoured.

Cisneros stayed by her side, and Mystic soaked up every bit of affection she had longed for. Their bond formed quickly.

Later, the rescue team arrived to take Mystic into their care. But after they left, Cisneros couldn’t stop thinking about her.

“… As soon as the rescue left with her, I felt like I was missing something. I ended up reaching out to [the] rescue after they left and let them know if she didn’t have a family and became adoptable, we would gladly take her in,” Cisneros told The Dodo.

A Forever Home For Mystic

Mystic received medical treatment and soon began to recover. Without a microchip and no owner coming forward, Cisneros and her family made the decision to adopt her.

Mystic’s once-tired face now radiated with happiness. She had finally found love, care, and safety. Her days of loneliness and hunger were behind her for good.

Now, Mystic enjoys the life every dog deserves, surrounded by people who adore her.

If you ever come across an animal in need, remember to reach out to a local shelter or rescue. Your compassion could be the key to a dog’s second chance.
