You’d probably agree with me when I say that dogs really are the best. Loyal, smart, endlessly loving. They bring more happiness to our lives than words can express.
And just when you think they can’t surprise you anymore, one comes along who completely steals the show.
That’s exactly the case with Nala, a fun-loving Golden Retriever whose viral videos have turned into a daily dose of serotonin we all crave.
She first captured hearts with her goofy dance-like butt stomps, but recently she surprised everyone with another trick that’s just as adorable.
Luckily, thanks to a security camera her dad installed, we get to watch her do it again and again. Believe me, I’ve replayed it far too many times.
Adventuring With Nala

Chris Lindamood, who lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, welcomed Nala into his life when she was just a tiny pup with short little legs and those oversized ears. Since then, he has documented her adventures on social media, giving the world a glimpse of her silly and sweet personality.
He describes her as both goofy and a little sassy, a combination that shines in their videos together. Whether they’re going on hikes, being silly indoors, or just enjoying life, Nala’s charm has taken over the internet.
“Nala is a goofy little dog and I love that I can capture her personality on video,” says Chris.
Her breakout fame came with a clip of her unique “stomping dances.” Nala squeezes between Chris’ legs, stomps her back paws like she’s doing a little jig, and soaks up her favorite thing in the world: butt scratches.
Tail wagging, paws stomping, goofy grins, and pure joy. That’s Nala in a nutshell.
She Flop, She Flop… She Do The Nala Flop ♫

Training came naturally to Nala, but one trick she never quite mastered was the trust fall. Chris didn’t push it, so he let it go. But months later, something unexpected happened.
“A few months ago, first thing in the morning, she woke up, sat up, and she fell backwards all on her own. Then, it was my mission to try to get that on video,” Chris said in one of his posts.
He still isn’t sure what inspired her, but the first time she did it, he was overwhelmed with laughter and joy.
“I was shocked, but it also made me smile from ear to ear, and I couldn’t stop laughing. She flopped and landed right next to me, so I laid there and cuddled with her for a while, laughing and smiling the whole time.”
Now it’s one of her favorite things to do. But, like every pet owner knows, whenever Chris tried to record her doing it, Nala stopped.
“I knew I needed a camera to be constantly recording to catch the moments on video,” explains Chris.
So, he set up a security camera… the best decision ever. Sure enough, as soon as he climbed into bed, Nala sat up, did her signature flop, and this time, it was all caught on tape.
Her trust in Chris is so strong that she now flops backward all the time, sometimes even startling him at unexpected moments.
“This might be my new favorite thing she does. She’s literally done this every morning for the past week. One day, she did it before I was fully awake and it completely startled me,” says Chris.
But he wouldn’t change a thing.
First, it was: she stomp, she stomp, she do the Nala stomp. Now, the remix has arrived: she flop, she flop, she do the Nala flop, and the world can’t get enough.

A friend once told me something that stuck with me forever: “Dogs are the best teachers of love in the world!”
Nala embodies that perfectly. She teaches us about trust, love, and joy in the most genuine way possible.
So, are you on Team Nala Stomps… or Team Nala Flops?
