Pup Saved From A Hoarding Situation Was Too Scared Of Humans Until He Met His New Rescuer

As much as our adorable doggos love spending time with their furry friends, sometimes it can be too much.

I mean, sure, a little playdate with a larger group of dogs is always welcome, but if a doggo lives in a tiny space with a lot of other animals, they can begin to show signs of stress and behavioral issues due to the cramped and over stimulating environment.

Unfortunately, there’s a pup named Radon who knows a lot about this.

A Bit Too Stressed

When Woods Humane Society in California rescued some pups from a severe hoarding case, they were hopeful that each and every one of them would find a forever home in no time.

Even though that was the case for most of the pups, they noticed that one of them, Radon, had some troubles trusting humans. So, they decided that a caring foster was the perfect thing for this pup.

After contacting Arianne, a kind woman who immediately decided to take this sweet boy in, the California Society knew that it would do him some good.

As soon as she brought him home, Arianne knew that this wouldn’t be an easy thing to do.

Radon was extremely fearful of hoomans, refusing to even look them in the eyes.

“He was struggling. You couldn’t touch him, he was just so stressed out. He was vibrating so much that his crate was shaking and any sudden movements, any eye contact, he would just run away,” Arianne told GeoBeats.

In order not to spook this sweet boy even more, the foster knew she had to take things slow. She knew that he perceived people as a big threat so she kept her distance. However, she did notice that Radon had no issues with other pups.

Luckily, Arianne already had her own dog, Gator, who made him feel more comfortable.

Easy Does It

After spending a whole week in his new foster home, Radon began coming out of his shell.

“If we were stationary, he would come out and just kind of peek through. Anytime we would move, he would run away. I assumed that he had no socialization and that night time he felt the most safe because that’s when he was most active,” she stated.

Feeding time wasn’t easy either. The pup absolutely refused to eat out of Arianne’s hand, so she had to place the food in a jar and slide it over to the pup.

But as soon as he was comfortable enough to eat out of her hand, Arianne knew that it marked the start of something magical.

“It took more than two months, but yeah, it was a long journey to just gaining his trust and little by little, he’s come such a long way that I think that he can do anything,” she added.

Radon went from being the most terrified pup ever to one who absolutely adored hooman company. Whenever his foster mom would have friends over, they would feed him yummy treats and he would absolutely love it.

This was a clear indicator that this sweet boy was finally ready for a forever family.

Since he was so adorable, finding him a forever family was a piece of cake. Now, Radon is living the best life ever with people who would do anything for him!
