Dogs have emotions and feel joy and worry in ways that are similar to our own emotions. They can’t speak and express their feelings verbally, but they can show them in gestures that say more than words ever could.
Morrie is an ideal example of a dog who is not afraid to express his feelings. The pup found his own way to stay grounded when his emotions overwhelm him. A carrot became his emotional support. Regardless of what kind of day he is having, that carrot is always with him.
His attachment may look unusual from the outside, but it reveals something much deeper. It shows how dogs create their own ways to cope, to feel safe and to show love.
Morrie’s Emotional Support

Ever since Morrie was a puppy, he always had something to carry around.
Before he ever discovered carrots, the pup always had a toy in his mouth.
However once he found the carrot that would become his favorite, everything changed.
“Once the carrots were around, the carrots never went away. It was love at first sight, for sure,” Logan shared with The Dodo.
From that moment on, the carrot wasn’t just a toy. It became a part of how Morrie coped with his feelings.
Logan noticed how much it helped him when he was excited or hesitant.

“I think his carrot still allows him to express his emotions and have his feelings, but it also helps him manage them better,” Logan explained.
Morrie brings his carrot with him whenever he gets worked up or needs reassurance.
It calms him and helps him understand what’s going on around him. The carrot became the source of comfort, and sometimes even his courage.
A Special Bond

As time passed, Logan realized Morrie how important the carrot was for him.
It soothed him when he was relaxing and it made him braver and gave him confidence during new experiences.
Logan also opened up about what Morrie means to her.
“And part of why I love having a dog is they make you feel seen on the days where you don’t feel seen.”

Morrie reminds Logan that pets give comfort in ways people sometimes can’t. They show their love in small, honest gestures. And Morrie, with his carrot always nearby, has done exactly that.
Logan added, “I often remind myself how lucky we really are to be able to have pets like this in our life.”
She adores Morrie and is grateful to have him by her side. His love brightens even the hardest days.
