California Police Dog Named ‘Main Suspect’ After Officers Find A Destroyed Stuffed Animal

It takes years of experience and keen intellect to solve crimes, but some things are pretty obvious.

When officers of the Roseville Police Department in California arrived at headquarters, they were ‘shocked’ by what they saw: a crime scene featuring the “lifeless” body of a stuffed animal and one culprit peeking from behind a wall.

To make matters ‘worse,’ that culprit was one of their own!

The SSU Sergeant stumbled upon an unexpected situation in the office. There it was – a lifeless plush monkey doll completely chewed up with almost all its filling spread around the room.

Although without complete evidence, the Sergeant had a pretty good clue about who did this!

As he was “securing the crime scene” with tape, trying to collect what was remaining of the plushie, the number-one suspect practically observed the whole situation from behind a wall.

It was Butter, the police dog!

His motive behind this “crime,” however, still remains unknown.

“Canine Butter is trying to master his poker face as our SSU Sergeant examines the “crime scene” of a “mysteriously” chewed-up stuffie. Butter is our #1 suspect at this time, and the motive remains a mystery,” the Department wrote on Facebook.

Butter had a poker face as if he were saying: “Hey, what happened here?”

Him committing such a “crime” was quite unexpected, especially since Butter is a friendly Crisis Comfort Canine with the perfect record.

But, even the best of us slip sometimes – so the officers cut him some slack. After all, Butter is just a dog!

Butter Is Truly A Treasure

When he’s not randomly “attacking” plush toys in the office, Butter is literally making his community feel better! As a Crisis Comfort K9, this pup is an extremely important member of the RPD.

He’s a therapy dog and service dog, and he actively promotes mental health.

“Butter is an invaluable companion in promoting and enhancing mental health, offering emotional support and comfort to individuals who are experiencing stress, trauma, or a crisis,” California PD wrote.

So far, Butter has helped many people in his community and they couldn’t be more thankful. He’s an excellent therapist who’s always available to provide assistance to those in need.

Butter regularly tackles issues such as trauma, advocates for victims, and provides assistance for social services.

“Butter responds to calls with the Social Services Unit to help with traumatic instances, such as mental health, victim advocacy, or critical incident debriefings for our RPD officers. He has visited hospitals, schools, and the occasional coffee shop for a quick pup cup,” RPD concluded.

Although quite busy, with little time for ‘free activities,’ Butter always finds a way to spice things up and make the most out of his day. He’s incredibly affectionate, loves spreading love to everyone he comes in contact with, and makes friends easily.

Butter is the epitome of the perfect community dog!
