Pit Bull Facing Euthanasia For Having A Doggy Cold Saved At The Last Minute

Pit Bull Facing Euthanasia For Having A Doggy Cold Saved At The Last Minute

Many dogs don’t live to find their forever home. Instead, the vast majority of them end up in shelters, living a poor kennel life until the very last day.

Ranger was facing the same destiny. He was found in a vacant apartment in New York City, abandoned by the people who moved on without him. Lonely, scared, and left with nothing, this amazing Pittie boi was found by animal control.

Things started to change for the worse when Ranger got diagnosed with a doggy cold, which threatened to contaminate other dogs. In order to prevent that from happening, the shelter staff sadly decided to put him down. But then, a miracle happened!

Hooman-Shaped Miracle

One of the volunteers at the shelter, a woman named Kelsey, turned out to be Ranger’s hero! This giant-hearted woman didn’t want Ranger to be unjustifiably euthanized, so she decided to take him in.

In no time, Ranger got a brand-new foster home, and a mom to take care of him. After he got better, he slowly started to come out of his shell. Once he realized he was finally on safe ground, Ranger started exhibiting his true personality.

He is such a sweet and affectionate boi that craved attention and love. He acclimated to house life pretty quickly, and Kelsey knew that it was time for him to find a home that he could call his own.

An animal lover named Sarah fell in love with Ranger as soon as she learned his story on social media. Unfortunately, by the time she decided to apply, Ranger was already adapted into another family, and Sarah lost hope of ever meeting him.

But then, only weeks later, Kelsey reached out to Sarah, saying that Ranger was available again!

“I got a message from Kelsey saying Ranger got brought back. It wasn’t a good fit,” says Sarah.

Sarah was just over the moon to receive this wonderful news. Now, meeting Ranger was only a matter of logistics!

Meeting Sarah

Kelsey flew with Ranger to Seattle, from where he went to his mom’s new home. The connection he made with Sarah was instant! The two bonded right off the bat, but it was evident that Ranger needed some time to fully adapt into the new environment.

What this enthusiastic Pittie loves the most about his new home is the endless space where he can run and play freely. He does this cute, daily stick game, where he finds a random stick in the woods and carries it on a walk with his mom.

“He does a daily stick, which means he goes and finds a stick every single day and the bigger, the better,” says Sarah.

Ranger loves every single thing about his new life. He’s an amazing companion who loves to walk, hike, take road trips, and embark on endless adventures with his mom.

Recently, he got a sibling… a doggo named Charlie, and he welcomed him like a true big brother!

“He brings a lot of joy. He’s a huge advocate for Pitties in that he’s such a gentle giant. He just wants to love everyone,” says Sarah.

Before Charlie came into their lives, Ranger lived with his mom and cat siblings. The fact that he loves every living being is just priceless, and his mom can’t be happier.

Ranger brightens everybody’s days with his positive energy and beautiful smile. He’s always open to new things and he absolutely loves meeting new people – especially kids.

Once an abandoned Pittie whose life was on a thin line, Ranger is now a happy, gentle giant enjoying his life to the fullest!
