A rescuer’s realization that they have given a four-legged companion the life it was truly always meant to enjoy is absolutely utterly remarkable.
Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy, a passionate rescue organization operating in Irvine, California, understands this feeling time after time better than most.
Another Rescue Under Her Belt
When concerned Good Samaritans spotted two tiny pups wandering around a local park, they quickly reached out to Hall, alerting her to their plight.
Sadly, one pup unexpectedly disappeared, leaving its companion terrified and utterly alone.
However, it wasn’t long before he completely vanished as well.
Until one night.
“Yesterday I got a message that he was seen running frantically down a busy street. When I got there, I saw him but everyone was pulling over and chasing him. My heart sank, one wrong move and he would have been hit by a car.” Hall wrote in a Facebook post.
Fortunately, Hall skillfully maneuvered her van into the street, intercepting the frightened pup and directing him into the grounds of a nearby school for safety.
She then requested those pursuing him to swiftly latch the school gates securely behind him to ensure he could not escape once more.
After searching the school grounds quietly, she located him curled up in a dim corner.
Hall approached the pup and managed to gently slip a snare loop over its head.
This sudden restraint frightened the pup, and he struggled to break free and dart away from his would-be savior.
However, Hall refused to release him.
In the end, she soothed him with words and pats, helping him realize he was truly safe and that no harm would ever come his way again.
Hall drove throughout the neighborhood late into the night, searching for his missing companion, but she was unable to find him.
Incredible Reunion
After conducting inquiries into his background, the California rescue discovered the pup’s name was Rocky and that he already belonged to a loving family!
They also discovered that the other pup, whose name was Whisky, was his brother, and both had quietly run away from home after their parents mistakenly left the gate open.
Rocky’s owners immediately climbed into their car and drove straight to the shelter to pick up their loving pup!
However, this was the beginning of even better news!
Hall received information that Whisky had been taken in by a nearby shelter and placed on their lost-dog list!
As soon as they picked up Rocky, they immediately set out to reunite him with Whisky.
“Oh, what a reunion it will be. Friends back together!” wrote Hall.
