Owner From Washington Wanted To Take His Dog For A Walk Only To Be Surprised By His Reaction

We all know that dogs are very big fans of going on a walk. I mean, have you ever seen a pup who doesn’t like to go out for a long stroll through the park?

I personally haven’t. Mine always enjoyed running and going for walks. It was one of his favorite rituals, especially when he got to run laps around the neighborhood.

However, the possibility that a dog wouldn’t like going for a walk is almost nonexistent. Well… I wouldn’t be so sure.

When this owner from Washington thought about taking his Golden Retriever for a walk, he noticed something suspicious about his behavior.

He Doesn’t Want To Go For A Walk?!

Well, surely, we have seen this at some point, right? Whenever Brittany Haffner and Mike Karas decide to go for a walk with their dog, Bruce, they notice something odd about his behavior.

It’s almost like he doesn’t want to go for a walk. Then, it occurred to the owners. Bruce still remembers one fateful day from five years ago which changed his perspective on walks.

Apparently, he was tricked by his dad to go for a walk when it was in fact a seven-mile run. Ever since then, Bruce was hesitant to go for walks.

Every time he sees a leash, he assumes that his dad is going to take him out for a long run instead of a relaxing stroll through the park.

It took a while for the owners to convince their dog that they were just going for a walk, but they were eventually successful.

Now, every time they go for a walk, Bruce no longer hesitates and his owners would never even think of trying something as silly as going for a run ever again.

Heartwarming Reactions On TikTok

The couple from Washington thought it was hilarious seeing Bruce hesitate to go for a walk, so she recorded the dog’s reaction and posted it on TikTok.

Unsurprisingly, many people were surprised by this dog’s reaction because they had never seen such behavior in their dogs.

One person commented: “Yeah my dogs would never. I once had to carry my NEARLY FULL GROWN golden retriever home for 15 minutes when I was 14 because he wouldn’t go.

Well, this is just one example that Bruce is an anomaly. I have to admit, it still kind of baffles me that he doesn’t like to run, or maybe, it’s just the fact that it was a seven-mile run.

Another person said: “Also how I’d react if I got tricked into going on a 7 mile hike 5 years ago.

See, this works very well in Bruce’s defense. I think I would honestly feel the same way if I was tricked into going on a long run.

Lastly, somebody commented: “I went hiking with my golden ONCE… My back hurt for weeks after carrying her and my heavy backpack down the trail again because she just straight up REFUSED to walk back.

Okay… well, this is an interesting story. Maybe it has something to do with the breed, I am not sure. Either way, it’s always hilarious reading through people’s personal experiences with dogs.

It shows us just how simple and fun life can be with our dogs, even when we don’t really expect it. Life is always full of surprises this way and Bruce is just the best example of that.
