Owner Who Spent A Month In Florida Realized That Something Was Wrong With Her Dog Shortly After

It’s true that most owners would do anything to help their pup when they get sick. It’s just natural. We love them so much and only want them to get better.

Sometimes the situation can be very tough and there might not be a solution for the dog’s problem, but most owners will still try their best to help however they can.

And I think that is just beautiful. It really shows how beautiful the bond is between dogs and humans.

When this owner first went to Florida for thirty days, she noticed that something was off about her furry friend when she got back home, only to learn the shocking truth.

The Pup Was Paralysed

After Amanda McSharry noticed her dog’s movements were becoming pretty stiff, she was starting to get worried.

All of this started after her trip to Florida, so she suspected that the pup, named Ruby, might have gotten injured somehow, but it was hard to tell.

So, the next course of action was to take her to the veterinarian who gave her medicine and was planning to observe her.

Her condition got worse as days went by, so Amanda suspected that it was probably a neurological issue because it didn’t look like she was in pain.

She took Ruby to the veterinarian again, but they just referred her to a much larger pet hospital that could help her.

This absolutely terrified her because she had no clue what it could be. Amanda didn’t want to lose her soul dog.

The veterinarians at the other clinic told her that they had done X-rays, blood tests, and ultrasound to rule out various cancers and toxoplasmosis.

Ruby’s Incredible Perseverance

Things were just getting worse as Ruby could no longer lift her head or even eat properly. The veterinarians told her that she had polyradiculoneuritis.

Essentially, it’s an illness where the body’s immune system attacks the nerve roots that exit the spinal cord.

It can be caused by numerous things, but there are therapies for this, and they are usually very intense. Amanda was more than willing to go through it because she didn’t want to lose Ruby.

At first, Ruby was hospitalized and monitored. Amanda couldn’t stop worrying about her, but she was in very good hands.

While she was undergoing serious physical therapy for her condition, Amanda carried her everywhere for three months.

She would do physiotherapy for her before work, during her lunch break and also after work. These steps were so crucial in recovery.

Ruby also started hydrotherapy sessions which helped accelerate her healing journey. The progress was still slow, but it was becoming more noticeable.

Eventually, she was able to take her first steps completely unassisted. This was completely surreal for Amanda, but she was over the moon to see her pup make such amazing progress.

She couldn’t hold back her tears and she made sure to capture this beautiful moment, as it symbolized incredible perseverance in Ruby and how willing she was to get better. It’s so comforting to see that Ruby’s story had a happy ending.
