I was really surprised to learn that dogs actually enjoy some types of human music. I had a dog for most of my life, but it never occurred to me to check if he liked music.
It’s one of those things that only crosses your mind later. Dogs not only like certain tunes but also find it soothing when their owner sings to them.
That was a bigger surprise for me. Singing to pups is calming, helping them relax or fall asleep.
Something similar happened with a woman from Ohio when she saw her pup was mad at her, so she tried a clever trick to calm her down.
A Smart Solution
Kathie has cared for dogs most of her life and has become skilled at handling their issues.
She has four dogs: Rosie, Jazmine, Frankie, and Jonathan.
When Kathie noticed Rosie was upset with her, she called her name but got no response.
Rosie refused to move. So Kathie tried something clever. Since puppyhood, Rosie’s favorite song has been “You Are My Sunshine.”
Kathie started singing it to her.
Though Rosie stayed still, her wagging tail betrayed her feelings. She couldn’t hide her excitement despite being mad.
At one point, Rosie even gave a side-eye as if to say her tail wagging wasn’t about happiness hearing the song, but Kathie knew it didn’t matter.
How People Reacted Online
Finding the situation funny, Kathie posted the video on TikTok channel. Since she shares many dog videos, it’s no surprise this one blew up.
One person commented: “That’s a fierce side eye. She’s thinking don’t you dare sing my song… Ah! Dammit!”
It looked like Rosie was warning her owner but couldn’t stop showing excitement while pretending to be mad.
Another person said: “Why are you forcing her to feel something she doesn’t want to feel right now.”
Kathie explained Rosie was mad because she tried to eat the baby bunnies, and Kathie wouldn’t allow it. She wanted to apologize but couldn’t let Rosie near the bunnies.
Lastly, somebody commented: “Just proves how pure dogs really are to us humans.. cuddles definitely are in order.”
Once Rosie cools down, she definitely deserves cuddles for comfort. Even if she was wrong, she still deserves some understanding, and cuddles are the perfect way to show that.
Honestly, I was surprised by how Rosie reacted to music. It reminded me how much I still have to learn about dogs. They’re always full of surprises.
