New Jersey Owner Noticed Her Dog Was Turning Green Only To Learn The Real Cause Behind It

We all know that dogs like to have fun… sometimes even too much fun. It’s hard to say anything against it, because it’s so heartwarming seeing them have a good time.

They ran around and socialized all day and even when they were tired, they continued playing because they didn’t want to miss out.

Occasionally, some pups can enjoy an activity so much that they don’t want to spend time doing anything else.

This New Jersey owner was shocked when her dog started turning green, but it became quickly apparent why that was the case.

She Loves Summertime

It was an ordinary day for Tori, who was just enjoying a beautiful summer day. She and her dog were relaxing by the pool, although it’s fairer to say that Tori relaxed while her pup was swimming in the pool.

Then out of the blue, her pup came to her only for Tori to realize something was wrong. The dog’s fur was turning slightly green.

What was the reason for it? Obviously, the pool. Apparently, copper sulfate is used as an algicide to clean pools and it reacts strangely when it comes into contact with dog fur.

It’s important to note that this only happens when the copper levels are too high, so that explains why Tori’s dog was turning green.

Considering that the pup spent all day, every day in the pool, it’s no wonder that her fur was turning green after all that.

Tori tried to warn her that she shouldn’t go into the pool anymore, because it’s probably not a good idea, but the dog just cried in disapproval.

What Is The Internet’s Opinion

Considering how funny the entire situation was, this New Jersey owner made sure to record several videos of the two of them enjoying their time at the pool, including the clip where you could see the dog’s green fur.

After posting it to her TikTok channel, a lot of people had some interesting things to share.

One person commented: “This is actually really genuinely dangerous cos if she goes in the pool too much all day everyday she WILL turn green and then she could try defying gravity

Such an interesting side effect of spending too much time in the pool. I think my dogs have to try this sometime soon.

Another person said: “Just the thought of not getting in the pool gave that poor baby a panic attack.

Yeah, it was both hysterical and heartbreaking at the same time. It’s clear just how much this doggo enjoys her time in the pool. It would be sad to stop that.

Lastly, somebody commented: “Use ketchup. I used to be a competitive swimmer and the blond parts of my hair would turn bright green. Soaking the hair with ketchup removes most of the colour.

That’s an interesting remedy. I am not sure if it’s something that will definitely work, but it might be worth trying. What harm can ketchup do, right?

Either way, this short moment gained millions of views and it’s beautiful to see how many people offered some solutions so that this dog can go back to enjoying her time in the pool.
