Dogs have impeccable instincts when it comes to spotting things that are hard for us humans to see. They can either smell it or use their keen eyesight to detect threats.
In such situations, it is probably best to listen to your dog and heed his warnings if he is trying to alert you that something is wrong.
I would argue that they are correct in most cases, and it’s crucial that we don’t ignore that. However, we can also tell that sometimes our pups are maybe overreacting to things.
They don’t always have great ability to tell what is real and what is not, and when that happens, funny situations happen.
That’s why today, we will talk about a special dog from North Carolina who went through something similar.
He’s Staring Down At His Enemy
It was an ordinary day for Kelsie, who took her dog to the veterinarian clinic in North Carolina, when she noticed that her dog started acting strangely.
At first, she assumed that it was nothing. Then, she realized that he was focused on something at the top of the door.
She couldn’t tell what got her dog to be so wary all of a sudden, but then she looked up and saw an artwork of a black cat on the door.
Yeah, that’s what had him concerned. Kelsie looked back at her dog, but he was suddenly a lot closer to the artwork. It looked like he was preparing for an attack.
And, considering that he was a Border Collie, it should really not come as a surprise that he reacted in such a way.
Border Collies were originally bred as herders on farms, so they have sharp instincts and eyes for spotting potential threats in the distance. I guess this was just one of them for this dog.
It Was Pretty Hilarious
After this hilarious moment, Kelsie realized that it was too good not to share it with the world, so she uploaded it onto her TikTok page.
She had no idea how quickly this video would go viral, as many people were just pouring into the comment section to share their reactions.
One person commented: “Border collie doing mental calculations on the angle of the ladder he will build and then climb.”
He could do that, or he could just try to jump really high to destroy the vicious enemy at the top of the door. Either strategy would work.
Another person said: “Not him using his eye lasers, pointing leg, and whole body making sure you see it too.”
Well, I mean, he has to warn his owner about it somehow. This felt like the only appropriate response to such a threat.
Lastly, somebody commented: “That poooooor dog! IMO that feels like torture because it’s in their blood! Fixation with certain breeds can stress them ouuuuuut!”
What’s even funnier about this situation is that the dog believes that the artwork of a cat is actually staring back at him, so he can’t look away.
Either way, none of this was serious. It was just a lighthearted video that once again showed how protective and wary of different threats these dogs can be. We should never take that for granted.
