Parking lots are often places of abandonment for many four-legged animals. They seem like convenient places for neglectful owners to stop by, unload their “furry packages” and drive away without second-guessing their decisions.
This time, it was a parking lot in front of a Home Depot in California that “served the purpose” for one such owner.
Shoppers present on the spot witnessed a red car arrive in the lot. Then, a shocking scene unfolded: an owner simply discarded a cardboard beer box and disappeared as if nothing had happened.
Disturbing Scene

It was a day like any other at a Home Depot parking lot when people witnessed a truly cruel situation. A person in the car sped into the parking lot with one cruel goal: to leave a box of tiny, newborn kittens there.
Upon leaving the furry animals, the person simply vanished in the distance. Concerned shoppers who saw the entire situation taking place approached the box immediately, recognizing the urge to save the kittens.
The people took a closer look inside the box, and then they saw it: an entire litter of eight furry babies with no mom. It was truly heartbreaking.

Shocked by what they had just witnessed, the people knew time was of the essence. Fortunately, Natalie, one of the volunteers at Kitt Crusaders was at the spot, too, and she immediately knew what to do.
She offered to take all eight kittens with her and take them to the facility. As it turned out, it was the best decision possible!
“8 kittens just got saved by one our Crusaders who just happened to stumble across them dumped in a box at Home Depot. We gave the formula we had on hand for emergencies but we definitely need more sent,” the California rescue wrote in the post.

Upon arriving at the rescue, Natalie explained the situation to the staff.
They immediately supplied the kittens with the formula, supplies and even an incubator. The good news was: these tiny babies didn’t need to wait long for a home.
Natalie, who participated in the rescue, offered to foster half of the litter along with another volunteer. Just like that, the kittens who were on the verge just a few hours ago now had a whole future ahead of them, all thanks to giant-hearted people.
Safe And Heading Toward A New Chapter

One thing is for certain: the “Home Depot” litter still has a lot of growing to do before they can be eligible for adoption.
They are now in a safe environment, learning all about being loved. With proper care, nutrition and lots of TLC, there’s no doubt these furry cuddle bugs will thrive and transform into happy-go-lucky kittens.
So far, they’re just happy to be next to each other, preparing to take their very first baby steps.
