Once A Sad Pitbull Can’t Stop Smiling Because He Was Rescued

Once A Sad Pitbull Can’t Stop Smiling Because He Was Rescued

He had one of the purest smiles I’ve ever seen. His whole face smiled… no kidding!

The radiant smile made this Pitbull look like an absolute doll. He wasn’t scary at all, no matter what some people might think about Pitbulls.

Leroy, the abandoned Pittie boy, was left in a cement hole without a way to leave it on his own. He was trapped. His hope was slowly fading away. His heart was breaking into pieces.

Why did my hoomans do this to me? Did I deserve it?

As Leroy questioned his destiny and the circumstances that led him to that hole, he didn’t see help coming his way.

When Leroy raised his head, he saw an angel: his rescuer.

A Cement Pit Is No Place For A Dog

Imagine yourself casually going around the neighborhood, taking photos as you normally would, and then you spot something that isn’t usually the object of your photoshoot.

Is that… a dog? In that terrible cement hole? Oh, Lord!

A local photographer came across Leroy accidentally. He did not expect to see a single soul around that property in Fresno, California, let alone a dog.

When he locked eyes with Leroy, the photographer snapped a couple of photos and called Compassion Without Borders. That pup had to be rescued immediately!

Leroy didn’t wait for too long. God only knows how long he’d been in that pit. The CWB volunteers quickly jumped in the hole and lifted Leroy up, delivering him from his misery and showing him that not everything was lost.

Leroy wasn’t trapped anymore. Leroy was free.

He thanked them with the biggest smile, and that’s the moment he started smiling again. Leroy hasn’t stopped smiling ever since.

And, he was the sweetest boy ever, despite the situation he was rescued from. He didn’t lose his faith in humanity.

Christi Camblor, the director and founder of CWB, was there when Leroy arrived at their shelter, all exhausted, partially blind, with lots of skin mass, and diagnosed with arthritis.

Camblor immediately took care of Leroy and vowed that she would be his caretaker as long as he was there.

“It was love at first sight!” Camblor said. “I had a feeling we would not be able to part with him.”

And, the feeling was right. Not only did she vow that she would be there for Leroy while he was at the shelter, but Camblor also vowed forever to be by his side.

About a month later, she and Camblor’s husband officially adopted Leroy.

“He is silly, playful, loving and very engaging,” Camblor said. “He loves playing with toys, playing with his dog brothers and sisters, napping and hanging out in the backyard sunbathing.”, said Christi.

And, if you wondered if Leroy still has that huge smile on his face, he does. Leroy still smiles like he smiled the day he was rescued.

Why wouldn’t he? He’s got a wonderful life with the Camblors, finally being treated the way he was always supposed to be.

Leroy is just one stray Pitbull found in Fresno. Just imagine how many others are still out on the streets! Over one million Pitbulls get put down to sleep each year in the States. Don’t let that stray you just saw pass by you become a part of this statistic!

Give them a chance to smile just like Leroy does!
