Michigan Rescuers Saw Mysterious Animals Lying In The Snow Only To Realize What They Are

When talking about rescuers, we typically think of dog and cat rescuers. And, that is normal. We mostly hear about these stories.

But, what surprised me was to find out just how many other sanctuaries are out there and the fact that they focus on saving different groups of animals, not just dogs and cats.

I believe that is really amazing. While it may seem like common sense, not every rescue is interested in saving animals other than dogs and cats unless they have to.

A kind woman noticed a group of mysterious animals lying in the snow outside her home in Michigan. A few moments later, she realized what they were.

A Gaggle Of Ducks

The woman who called realized that there was a gaggle of ducks in the snow. She quickly called the Michigan Duck Rescue and Sanctuary who decided to help her.

Even though it was late and snowing outside, Matthew Lyson and his wife, Theresa, went to find these ducks.

The two rescuers wasted no time. They gathered their gear and drove to the location only to be shocked by what they saw.

These ducks were all huddled together trying their best to stay warm, even though it was difficult in the cold weather.

Some of the neighbors even came to help the kind rescuers and they were happy to see that there was such a big outreach for these animals.

The ducks looked like they were starving, so Matthew and Theresa wasted no time getting them to the shelter.

Before they did, the two rescuers learned that the ducks actually belonged to an owner who lived nearby and just decided to abandon them.

They Are Doing Just Great

As shocking as it was, everything was going to change for them now because their rescuers had a plan. At first, they thought about using nets.

But, they didn’t want to scare them off, so they decided to seal off the perimeter to make them easier to grab. They guided them toward the carriers and most offered little resistance.

It was like they knew that they were going to receive help, so they didn’t make a big deal out of it. The few that did offer resistance calmed down after a while and the rescuers secured all of them.

In total, thirteen ducks were saved by the rescuers. They scoured the area one more time to make sure that they had gotten all of them.

After they were certain, they rushed them back to the sanctuary in Michigan. The ducks were placed in a warm room and given a lot of food.

Who knows when they had their last meal? It is now important that they stay strong so that the rescuers can help them.

While we don’t know what’s in store for these ducks, it’s heartwarming to see how Matthew and Theresa responded to a call for help in the middle of the night.

To make things even better, the neighbors helped them during the rescue, which shows just how much people care for other animals, and that is really important.
