Imagine you are just doing your job as a mechanic. Everything is going as one would expect, considering you have done it a thousand times.
However, this time, there is something different. You hear a tiny whisper, or rather, a noise coming from inside the car.
You try to pinpoint where it’s coming from only to realize there is a furry animal stuck inside the engine, and it needs your help.
That’s essentially what happened to this mechanic from Georgia who works at Royalty Auto Service, and it caught him completely off guard.
How Did She End Up Here?
When Sherwood Cooke Jr., the owner of Royalty Auto Service, first received a call for help regarding a car, he was not sure if the person was pranking him.
After doing a test drive in the car, they thought they heard a cat, which is why Cooke was skeptical. He checked the front of the car and the engine to see what was going on.
He started thinking that he was seriously being pranked, but then he also heard a faint cry coming from inside the car.
After looking inside a lot closer, he realized that there was a kitten stuck inside. She needed help, but she tried to defend herself by hissing.
The kitten didn’t know these people, so she was naturally wary. Still, this didn’t stop Cooke and his son from trying to rescue her.
She was trapped in a tight spot under the car’s hood and it was really difficult to reach. They took the car in the garage, lifted it up and tried to grab the kitten from the undercarriage.
Cooke knew that the kitten was scared, so he tried to calm her down, while gently pulling her out of the car’s engine.
Eventually, he was able to pull her out completely and she looked confused and relieved at the same time.
Mercedes Is A Healthy Kitten
She didn’t know what to think about these people, but on the other hand, they helped her, so that’s a really big deal.
The first thing Cook noticed was how adorable the kitten was. She was still so small, so she needed a veterinary examination.
He immediately took her to a clinic in Georgia where they performed tests and found that the cat was in perfect health. This was great news.
Cook gave her the perfect name: Mercedes. After spending some time at the vet, he took her back to his garage where she spends time with her new dad.
Not only that, but now she also has a sibling named Maggie May. The two of them get along great and Mercedes is slowly getting used to her new life.
Cook has a dog, named Tink, who is also very affectionate to this little kitten, and just spends most of his time with her.
In the end, Mercedes is just glad that she has a new home and is surrounded by the most amazing people ever.
