Abandoned Puppy Had A Scary Start In Massachusetts, But One Thing About Her Surprised Everyone
In Massachusetts, a tiny puppy left in a cardboard box on the side of a road travels to New England, where she wins over a hesitant adopter and finally finds her big, booming voice.
A Heartbreaking Discovery

In Massachusetts, the start of life was unimaginably scary for one tiny puppy and her sister.
Abandoned in a cardboard box on the side of a road, the two little dogs were left entirely to fend for themselves.
Fortunately, kind rescuers intervened before it was too late, setting the stage for a remarkable journey of healing.
Brought up to the New England area through Ruff Tales Rescue, the tiny survivor was finally safe, but she still needed a family to call her own.
An Unexpected Match

When Bianca’s husband first showed her a picture of the rescue puppy, she wasn’t entirely convinced.
“She’s not the dog we had always envisioned having,” Bianca recalled thinking at the time.
But her husband gently encouraged her to keep an open mind, suggesting they just go and see the puppy in person.
They knew nothing about her past, other than the heartbreaking fact that she and her sister had been discarded by the road.
Those Hazel Eyes

When they arrived to meet the puppy, she was just a tiny, fragile little thing.
She was incredibly nervous, unsure of what to make of these new people standing before her.
But then, the little dog simply sat down, looked up at Bianca, and locked eyes with her.
“She just sat and looked at us and gave us those beautiful eyes that she has, her hazel eyes,” Bianca shared. “Instantaneously, I was melted.”
Choosing Her Number One

The family officially welcomed the puppy, now named Stella, into their home, and she quickly began to settle in.
Over the past year, it has become abundantly clear who Stella’s favorite person in the house is.
She took a very quick, deep loving to Bianca’s husband, claiming him as her absolute best friend.
“My husband is the heart and soul of her life, that is her number one, they are buddies,” Bianca laughed, adding that she proudly ranks as a “strong number two.”
Breaking Out Of Her Shell

Those first few days in her new home were a quiet period of adjustment for Stella.
You could tell she was just trying to figure out her surroundings and understand this strange, safe new place.
But as the second and third weeks approached, a beautiful transformation began to unfold.
Stella started coming out of her shell, showing a vibrant desire to play and explore the great outdoors.
Finding Her Voice

Despite her growing confidence, there was one thing Stella hadn’t done since arriving: make a sound.
For about two weeks, she had never barked, leaving her new family wondering if she even knew how.
Then, one day while everyone was gathered in the living room, the tiny puppy finally found her voice.
Out of nowhere came a very loud, deep bark. “We realized, oh my goodness, okay, she can bark and it’s powerful, it’s a pit bull bark,” Bianca recalled.
A Majestic Blend

Stella’s booming bark makes perfect sense when looking at her unique genetic makeup.
A DNA test revealed she is a beautiful blend of Boxer, Pit Bull, Staffie, and even 1% Catahoula—a tiny fraction that shows up vividly in her striking fur pattern.
She also boasts huge ears that flap for days and shoot straight up like a parachute whenever something catches her attention.
With shimmering hazel eyes that have a slight “cat bend” to them, Bianca affectionately describes her as majestic, looking like a true “doggy goddess.”
A Sweetheart To The Bone

While Stella is living her best life, her family hasn’t forgotten about the sister she was found with in that cardboard box.
They know the sister was also rescued through the same organization and is likely in the New England area.
The family hopes to someday reconnect the two siblings so they can see each other again under much happier circumstances.
For now, Stella spends her days bringing joy to her humans. As Bianca says, “Stella is a sweetheart, truly to her bone. Stella just wants to love you and be loved.”
