Colorado Man Thought The Dog Outside Was Lost Until His Camera Showed The Truth

When a dog is left alone on the street, it is hard not to wonder how anyone could make such a cruel choice. Pets can be difficult sometimes, but there are always better ways to ask for help.

In Denver, Colorado, an Australian Shepherd mix was pushed out of a moving car instead of being taken somewhere safe. The act was captured by a nearby home’s surveillance camera.

The footage left people in the community stunned and deeply saddened. It showed a moment no dog should ever have to experience, and it quickly became clear this was not just a loose pet.

Rane Jaresh, a Colorado-based photographer, noticed a dog nervously pacing outside his home. When he tried to approach, the frightened pup darted away.

But Rane wasn’t ready to give up.

He returned inside, grabbed some treats and water, and came back out to try again.

“I heard some neighbors outside saying that there was a loose dog. I tried to approach him, he definitely did not let me. I went inside, grabbed some water, grabbed some treats,” Rane told FOX31 Denver.

Initially, Rane assumed the dog was lost. But after checking his surveillance footage, the truth became painfully clear.

The video showed a car pulling up, the back door opening, and the dog being pushed out before the vehicle sped away.

“It’s a pretty disgusting video to watch someone drop such a beautiful dog out of a car,” Rane added.

The footage also captured the dog, later named Emry, chasing after the car in desperation. He ran behind it, trying to reach the person he trusted.

But the car didn’t stop. Emry was left alone, confused and heartbroken.

A New Life Begins

Fortunately, Emry ended up in front of someone who refused to turn away.

Rane had previously rescued another Aussie mix named Bear. Now, he opened his heart to Emry as well.

Together, Rane and Bear had shared countless adventures like hiking, camping, and exploring. With Emry joining them, their little family felt complete.

“I kind of like it for him. He has another adventure buddy for all the hiking and camping that I plan on doing,” Rane says.

Emry was scanned for a microchip, but none was found. Unfortunately, the license plate in the video was unreadable, making it difficult to hold his former owner accountable.

The good news is that Emry is adjusting quickly to his new life.

He’s learning new tricks, bonding with Bear, and rediscovering the joy of play. The two dogs chase each other, wrestle, and rest side by side as if they’ve always been family.

What began as a cruel act of abandonment has become a story of second chances.

For Rane, welcoming Emry felt like the most natural thing in the world. Another loyal companion to love, this time, for good.
