Man Shocked To Find An Unexpected Occupant Living In The Basement Of His New Home

Canines are one of the loveliest creatures who are deserving of our infinite love and affection. We couldn’t imagine our lives without them, and we do our best to protect them and make them feel safe.

I feel sad knowing that there are defenseless pups who end up being mistreated and abused by ruthless people.

In today’s story, we will talk about Jumping Bean, a wonderful Pittie who was mistreated, too. She was left locked and tied in the basement of an empty house in Missouri, waiting for her heroes to set her free.

Rescuing Jumping Bean

When an unnamed man bought the same house and opened the basement door, he was shocked to find a Pit Bull tied to the stairs. The pup wagged his tail, happy to be found.

The man immediately contacted Stray Rescue of St. Louis, telling them about the doggo who had been tied in his basement.

The rescue team, along with Donna Lochmann, the rescue’s chief life-saving officer, rushed to the scene right away.

With the permission of the homeowner, the rescuers entered the house and headed to the basement.

After shining their flashlight down, they saw a chained Pittie with hope-filled eyes. They were heartbroken. She started wagging her tail with excitement.

As Lochmann untied her, the pup sniffed her and licked her face. She couldn’t wait to be free.

“She was nearly choking herself as she was so excited to see us. When we freed her, she couldn’t stop jumping up and down and giving hugs,” said Natalie Thomson, the chief communications officer of Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Lochmann put a leash on her and took her outside. Other rescuers went downstairs to check where the dog had been living.

They were told that a squatter had been staying in the basement for some time. He left garbage and an adorable doggo chained to the stairs. The rescuers didn’t find any food left for the pooch.

The Pooch Is Over The Moon

As soon as the canine was brought outside, she began jumping with joy as if she wanted to celebrate her freedom.

“It was as if she was saying ‘I am not to be ignored! I am a living, breathing soul. We named her Jumping Bean due to her excitement. It fit her perfectly,” Thomson said.

The enthusiastic canine hopped into the car. The rescuers gently stroked her and the doggo felt relaxed, knowing that she was now safe. Her tail still wagged non-stop. Her rescuers were overjoyed and they smiled during the freedom ride.

Shortly afterward, Jumping Bean was taken to see the vet. Luckily, she was found to be in good health. The enthusiastic Pittie was slightly underweight and she needed to be treated for heartworms, but other than that, she was alright.

The shelter staff loved Jumping Bean and they gave her a lot of love and cuddles. The pawdorable pup loved every single person whom she met.

“Her personality is completely adorable. She loves everyone she meets and craves attention. She makes sure she is not ignored! She’s an energetic and very affectionate pup! She is so happy all the time,” Thomson said.

Riding Into The Sunset With Her Forever Parents

Soon, Jumping Bean recovered and she hoped to find her forever home.

Joseph and Kristin Mills wanted to adopt a dog, and they came to the shelter in St. Louis. As soon as they saw Jumping Bean, they fell in love with her. The couple knew that she was the pup they were going to take home.

“You could just tell how happy she was to be out and about. [Kristin] liked her and I liked her so there wasn’t really anything more to think about,“ said Mills.

The sweet pooch changed her name to Arya and started a new life at her forever home. After she moved in with her family, she couldn’t contain her happiness.

Her parents love her immensely and the pup makes sure they know she adores them. She enjoys cuddling with them and she feels loved like never before.

We feel overjoyed knowing that Arya lives her best life. The lovely Pittie got the happy ending that she always deserved.
