Mama Dog And Her Three Puppies Left In A Plastic Bin Find Hope Through South Carolina Rescuers

Dogs give us their unconditional love and loyalty. They stay by our side through everything and ask for very little in return.

But not every dog is lucky enough to be loved back. Some are mistreated or left behind in heartbreaking ways, their lives put in danger by the people they trusted most.

Ginger, a sweet mama dog, was one of those dogs. Her former owners placed her and her three puppies in a plastic bin and left them beside a highway at night.

The weather was cold and the little family had nothing.

Ginger was devastated and scared for her babies. She was underfed and had no milk for her hungry pups, so she held them close, trying to keep them warm.

The Dog Family Is Brought To Safety

The mama dog waited, watching the cars pass. Ginger had no idea if help would come, but she held out hope that someone would stop.

Eventually, a woman noticed the little group and pulled over. She took a photo and shared it on Facebook, hoping someone would help.

Another kind woman saw the post and quickly drove out to find them.

When she arrived, her heart broke. Ginger sat quietly in the bin, pleading for someone to notice her. The woman gently gathered the little family and brought them to her home.

For the first time in a long while, Ginger and her puppies, later named Ceyenne, Poppy, and Nutmeg, had food in their bellies and a safe place to sleep.

By morning, they had even better news. A local rescue group called Anakin’s Trails, based in Greenville County, South Carolina, offered to take them in.

Soon after, Ginger and her puppies were welcomed into a foster home.

Their foster mom gave them warm baths. The puppies felt clean, safe, and cozy, and quickly curled up on a blanket and drifted off to sleep.

They were finally at peace. Ginger snuggled up with her babies, happy to know they were okay.

A few days later, the little family went to the vet. All of them were examined and treated for worms.

Ginger, still recovering from malnourishment, needed time to gain strength. She parted ways with her puppies, who were placed in another foster home to continue healing.

Hope Pays Off

Once Ceyenne, Poppy, and Nutmeg were healthy and strong, they began the search for their forever homes.

It didn’t take long. Each of them was adopted by a loving family who promised to care for them always.

Meanwhile, Ginger stayed with her foster mom. She was pampered and cared for every day.

When she fully recovered, she too was listed for adoption. Ginger hoped for a second chance with a family who would treat her with the love she deserved.

Her hope paid off.

Ginger was adopted and brought to a new home. Once a starving and abandoned dog, she now lives each day surrounded by people who love her.
