Sweet Injured Pup Rescued From The Middle Of The Road In California Can’t Stop Smiling

An injured dog limped through the traffic, enduring pain as she tried to avoid cars.

Although she felt scared and helpless, the pup was filled with hope that someone would find compassion in their hearts and come to her aid.

Fortunately, good humans noticed her and decided to help her.

Ivy and Jaina Spagis, the founders of Cats of San Bernardino, a cat rescue in California, spotted the dog in the middle of the traffic, pulled over, and got out of the car as quickly as possible.

They could tell right away that she was hurt, and they assumed that she had been hit by a car.

Reina Is Rushed To The Vet

Ivy approached her slowly, fearing that she might get spooked and run away.

Fortunately, the pup, later named Reina, felt that Ivy and her wife were there to help, so she came up to them as if she wanted to ask them to rescue her.

The moment Ivy picked her up, Reina melted in her rescuer’s arms. Although she was scared, she was calm and trusting.

“As soon as I got her in my arms, she kind of just melted into me,” Ivy told The Dodo.

On their way to the vet, Reina stayed in Ivy’s arms and refused to let go. The rescuer stroked her gently, wishing to reassure her that everything would be alright.

She could tell that Reina desperately needed love and comfort in order to feel safe.

Once they arrived at the vet, Reina was checked and had to stay there overnight for further examination. She took an X-ray, which showed that her front leg was broken.

The vet gave her medication to help ease the pain and placed her leg in a cast, which she had to wear for three weeks.

When Ivy and Jaina collected her the next day, Reina wagged her tail and greeted them with a smile. She looked like an entirely different dog.

The rescuers were relieved to know that the dog didn’t have any other injuries and that she would make a complete recovery.

Ivy and Jaina took her home and prepared a comfy place for her to sleep. Once Reina saw her new bed, she was delighted with it. She collapsed into it and fell asleep.

Reina enjoyed spending time with her heroes and couldn’t stop smiling. She was happy because she got a second chance at life.

When Meghan, one of the volunteers at Cats of San Bernardino, saw Reina, she fell in love with her and adopted her.

Reina quickly settled into her new home.

She only needed some time to get used to her doggy siblings, but luckily, as time passed, the pup built confidence. She started playing with them and became part of the pack.

Reina lives her best life in her California home. She adores her forever mom deeply, and they both feel lucky to have found each other.
