Seeing so many homeless animals wandering the streets is enough to break anyone’s heart.
Still, knowing that there are kind people who work every day to give those animals a second chance always brings hope.
One young dog left behind at a mall went through more than his share of suffering. Not only was he ignored, but people also began running into him with their cars. His pain went unnoticed by most, until one worker saw the sadness in his eyes and began offering him snacks.
As the days passed, the worker realized the pup needed far more than food, so help was called in.
Rescue Arrives Just In Time

The pup limped across the mall parking lot, retreating to a tree whenever he was too tired to move, completely unaware that his life was about to change.
Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy in Irvine, California, arrived with her rescue team ready to bring him to safety.
Her heart broke when she saw him. His face showed every bit of the hardship he had endured. What he longed for most was simple, a full meal and a soft place to rest, and soon he would have both.
Since they didn’t want to chase him off, the rescuers set a trap and waited. Before long, the pup walked inside.
When he noticed people approaching, he wagged his tail as if he already knew his struggles were finally over.
Hall wasted no time, loading him into her car and hurrying to the vet for a complete medical check.

A New Path Forward
After his exams, the vets discovered that the dog, now called Bruiser, had a fractured pelvis that would require surgery. He stayed at the clinic where he received treatment, along with pain relief to keep him comfortable.

Despite all of this, Bruiser proved to be incredibly sweet. He loved being close to his rescuers, greeting them with endless affection and kisses.
“It always amazes me how scared they are on the streets and then how thankful they are after they know they were rescued,” Hall wrote in a Facebook post.
While he waited for surgery, which likely meant inserting a plate into his pelvis, Bruiser enjoyed constant companionship, plenty of playtime, and tasty meals.

But soon, something completely unexpected happened: Bruiser began to heal on his own.
The vets realized that he no longer needed the costly procedure. With enough rest and care, his body was doing the work naturally.

“Bruiser will be on cage rest with his amazing foster mom. His hip fractures are in line to heal on their own,” wrote Hall in an update.
With his foster mom watching over him, there is no doubt Bruiser will make a full recovery.
One day soon, he will be racing around and enjoying life with a forever family of his own. And there is no question he deserves every bit of happiness ahead of him.
