Borya’s worst nightmare began when he found himself lying in a ditch, enduring pain and shivering with cold.
The senior dog was in terrible condition. Due to his spinal injury and a wound in his abdomen, he wasn’t able to get up.
All he could do was hope that someone would find him and give him a helping hand. He desperately wished that his agony would end.
Although two days passed and Borya remained in the ditch, he refused to give up hope.
It was as if he knew that a good soul was coming to his rescue.
Rushing To Borya’s Aid
A kind lady was heartbroken to notice the injured dog helplessly lying in the ditch so she immediately came to his aid.
When Borya saw her approaching him, his eyes became tearful. He was happy to see her.
The woman immediately drove the doggo to a local rescue that took him in.
The rescue staff rushed him to a hospital.
The vet gave Borya a complete medical checkup. After the doggo had an X-ray, it became clear that his pelvis was broken. He also had some old fractures.
Once the staff gave him a bath and shaved his fur, they realized how malnourished Borya was. He was nothing but skin and bones.
The staff started administering fluids and medication through an IV catheter.
Although the dog went through a lot, he was very gentle toward the staff. As he looked at his caregivers, his eyes melted with gratitude.
Since Borya was very weak and his bloodwork was poor, he had to stay at the hospital.
The wound in his abdomen was infected so the surgeons cleaned it twice a day.
Fortunately, thanks to the impeccable care that the doggo received, he soon began feeling better. The lab tests improved and his wound started healing.
Receiving The Necessary Love And Care
The senior dog moved to a foster home where he received a ton of love. His fosters cuddled him and did everything to make him feel comfortable.
They started taking Borya on walks. Although he was limping, the senior dog didn’t give up. He loved spending time outdoors.
As time went by, the doggo’s condition continued improving. Borya felt glad because he was loved and cared for.
He enjoyed playing with his doggy friends in the yard. Borya wagged his tail as if he was showing everyone that he felt much better than before.
A couple of months later, Borya gained weight. His fur grew back and he looked like a different dog.
He is enjoying his retirement in a loving home that he deserves. The doggo will never feel lonely and helpless again.
Thank you to both the woman who rescued Borya and his rescuers and fosters who gave him the love and care that he needed.
