Feather’s greatest fortune was her four little furbabies who she loved unconditionally. All she wanted to do was care for them and see them thrive into healthy and happy dogs.
Unfortunately, one day, everything changed for the mama dog and her puppies. They were abandoned at a landfill in California and forced to fight for survival.
Feather was desperate and heartbroken because she and her babies were betrayed in the worst possible moment.
However, the brave mama dog refused to give up. She focused on her pups and was resolved to do anything to keep them safe.
A Desperate Canine Family In Need Of Help

Since Feather and her puppies had no food, the mama dog had no other choice but to sift through the trash in hopes of finding anything that looked edible.
Despite their hopeless situation, Feather was loving and caring toward her puppies.
Luckily, a Good Samaritan who was passing by spotted a pile of white fur near the landfill and decided to investigate what it really was.
Once they discovered that the clumps of fur were actually stray dogs, the good person knew whom to call. They notified Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, a rescue located in Irvine, and urged her to help them.
Hall was heartbroken to see the photos of the abandoned dogs who lived among trash.

The way Feather snuggled with her babies, trying to protect them from the cold, moved her deeply.
“She did everything to protect them. They would cuddle together to get warm,” Suzette Hall wrote on Facebook.
Hall sent her volunteers, Karla and Yamy Nuñez, to rescue the canine family.

While they were on their way, a different rescue group called All Dogs LA jumped to the dog’s aid and protected them.
“I did not want them to end up in the wrong hands. And I am so thankful to [All Dogs LA] for getting over there to protect them until help could arrive,” Hall added.
Ready For A New Beginning

Once Karla and Nuñez reached the landfill, they tried to coax the dogs into their car.
However, since Feather and her puppies were frightened, they hid under the trash and tried to avoid being captured.
The kind volunteers refused to give up on them, and eventually, they managed to scoop Feather and her puppies up and load them into the car.

The mother dog was relieved to be rescued together with her kids. She had a lovely smile on her face and wagged her tail while the rescuers were talking to her.
The rescuers brought Feather and her puppies to the vet, where they were checked.
Due to being infested with roundworms, hookworms, and fleas, the canine family felt uncomfortable and in pain.
The mama dog had a large belly, and it looked like she was pregnant, but after the checkup, it was discovered that she had a large umbilical hernia.
The dogs started receiving treatment, and luckily, after some time, they began feeling a lot better.

The mama dog breathed a sigh of relief because she could finally take care of her babies without having to worry about anything.
Feather and her pups, Lychee, Pho, Nieve, and Daikon, will soon be taken to a foster home where they will be showered with love.
Although we don’t know what happens next in their story, we’re hopeful that the brave and wonderful canine family will soon find forever homes.
