Like every pup, Daisy needed a family who would love her endlessly.
Instead, people without compassion kept her in a puppy mill in Iowa, denying her a chance at happiness.

Daisy Gets A Second Chance
Rescuers discovered Daisy along with more than two hundred dogs at the same Iowa puppy mill. The sight broke their hearts.
Many of the dogs were malnourished, frightened, and unsure of people.
A kind woman named Amira learned Daisy’s story and chose to give her a forever home.
When Daisy first arrived, fear ruled her world. She seemed to expect something bad at every turn.
“She was hyper aware of everything going on around her… She was so scared,” Amira told The Dodo.
Daisy did not know how to rest. She would doze off while standing because she had never had a quiet room to lie down and sleep.
Amira poured on the affection. She stroked Daisy gently and spoke softly, helping her understand that she was safe and loved.
Life in a real home took time to learn. Daisy needed patience while she figured out how to be a dog.
Her new mom offered steady reassurance, kind words, and freedom of choice.
Amira wanted her to relax, so she let Daisy set the pace and do what made her comfortable.
Attaining Happiness
With constant love, the fear in Daisy’s eyes began to fade.
When Amira noticed the pup happily shredding paper towels, she recognized a milestone. Daisy felt secure enough to play and act like a dog.
Over time, Daisy’s coat started to recover. Soft curls grew in, and her fur transformed.
Weeks later, she looked like a different pup altogether, fluffy and radiant.

“I look at Daisy, and I’m like, ‘I can survive anything because she survived it.’ And I know love is real because of Daisy. I know love exists because she exists,” Amira added.
