Utah Golden Retriever Goes Viral After Security Footage Reveals An Adorable Secret

You would probably agree that dogs truly are the best. Loyal, clever, and endlessly affectionate, they bring a level of joy into our lives that is hard to describe.

Just when you think you have seen every adorable thing a dog can do, along comes one who completely rewrites the script. That is exactly the case with Nala, a fun and spirited Golden Retriever whose viral clips have become the daily happiness boost so many people look forward to.

She first became an online favorite for her playful dance-like butt stomps, but she eventually surprised everyone with another trick that is just as delightful. Thanks to a security camera her dad installed, the world now gets to enjoy her latest routine over and over again. And yes, it is worth every replay.

Exploring Life With Nala

Chris Lindamood from Salt Lake City, Utah, brought Nala home when she was just a tiny pup with short legs and big floppy ears.

Since then, he has shared her adventures across social media, giving people a front row seat to her silly and affectionate nature.

He often describes her as equal parts goofy and slightly sassy, a blend that makes every video of her unmistakably charming. Whether they are hiking together, being silly around the house, or simply enjoying everyday life, Nala’s sweet personality has captivated viewers everywhere.

“Nala is a goofy little dog and I love that I can capture her personality on video,” says Chris.

Her first big viral moment came from a video of her hilarious “stomping dances.” Nala squeezes herself between Chris’ legs, stomps her back paws like she is performing a tiny jig, and enjoys her absolute favorite reward in the world: butt scratches.

With her tail wagging, paws stomping, and goofy smiles, Nala has become a symbol of pure happiness.

The Famous Flop Makes Its Debut

Training has always come naturally to Nala, but one trick she never quite figured out was the trust fall. Chris never pushed her to learn it, so he simply let it go. Months passed until something surprising happened one morning.

“A few months ago, first thing in the morning, she woke up, sat up, and she fell backwards all on her own. Then, it was my mission to try to get that on video,” Chris said in one of his posts.

He still does not know what inspired her, but the first time she did it, he could not help but burst into laughter.

“I was shocked, but it also made me smile from ear to ear, and I couldn’t stop laughing. She flopped and landed right next to me, so I laid there and cuddled with her for a while, laughing and smiling the whole time.”

Soon enough, the flop became one of Nala’s favorite things to do. However, like many pets, she stopped whenever Chris tried to record her.

“I knew I needed a camera to be constantly recording to catch the moments on video,” explains Chris.

So he installed a security camera. It turned out to be the perfect solution.

The moment he climbed into bed, Nala sat up, did her signature backwards flop, and this time the camera caught everything beautifully.

Her trust in Chris is so strong that she now flops without hesitation, often surprising him when he least expects it.

“This might be my new favorite thing she does. She’s literally done this every morning for the past week. One day, she did it before I was fully awake and it completely startled me,” says Chris.

But he would not change any of it.

First, Nala won hearts with her stomping dance. Now her hilarious flop routine has taken over, and the world has happily embraced the remix: she flop, she flop, she do the Nala flop.

A Dog Who Teaches Pure Joy

A friend once shared a thought that has stayed with me for years: “Dogs are the best teachers of love in the world!”

Nala proves that sentiment every day. Through her stomps, her flops, and her unwavering trust, she reminds us what love and joy look like in their purest form.

So the only question left is this: are you on Team Nala Stomps or Team Nala Flops?
