From A Cardboard Box In Texas To A New Home In Wisconsin, Tully’s Turnaround Feels Incredible

Stories about abandoned puppies appear far too often, and somehow they never hurt any less.

There is something especially heartbreaking about seeing such tiny, fragile animals left to survive on their own, carrying a kind of sadness that is hard to put into words.

It is impossible not to question what kind of person could walk away from a helpless pup like that.

What were they thinking? Did they truly decide that this little life did not deserve food, water, or even the smallest bit of comfort? Those questions come back every time another abandonment case surfaces.

In Houston, Texas, one case felt especially cruel.

A caring woman got a call about a puppy that had been left beside a dumpster, and when she got there, what she found was almost too painful to take in.

The Heartbreaking Discovery

Inside a small cardboard box lay a fragile pup, later named Tully, barely moving. The woman, desperate to save the helpless baby, gathered her strength and rushed to help.

Samantha Dix, the founder of Street Life To The Sweet Life in Houston, Texas, is known for being a voice for animals in need. She has dedicated her life to helping animals with no one else to turn to, and Tully’s case was no different.

When Samantha saw the pup on the brink of collapse, she immediately sprang into action.

Tully was weak, malnourished, and gravely ill. It was unclear how long she had been without food or water. The puppy was so emaciated that she seemed on the verge of giving up.

Without hesitation, Samantha picked up the tiny dog and rushed her straight to the emergency clinic.

“This critical puppy is being rushed to Vergi ER in Houston. It’s still alive, and we hope we found this baby in time. This puppy will need immediate hospitalization and likely blood transfusions,” Street Life To The Sweet Life posted on Facebook.

Signs Of Progress

Thanks to the veterinary team’s quick actions, Tully received the lifesaving care she needed. Relief flooded Samantha when Tully tested negative for heartworms and was no longer in immediate danger.

However, she was still battling parasites and needed round-the-clock care before she could fully recover.

Samantha felt immense gratitude that they had gotten to Tully just in time. Seeing her regain strength so quickly was a miracle.

With medical care and lots of love, Tully blossomed into the sweetest little companion.

“It’s crazy how quickly she bounced back with ER care,” Samantha shared on Instagram.

“Tully did it! She survived a heavy parasite load. She is heading home to her foster mom now,” she added.

A New LIfe

The best news came just weeks later. After recovering in a loving foster home, Tully found her forever family in Wisconsin.

“Tully was adopted today in Wisconsin,” Samantha joyfully shared along with a photo of Tully and her new mom.

The bond was immediate, and Tully and her new owner were smitten with each other from the very start. Together, they began a new chapter of their lives.

Now, Tully is thriving in her new home, enjoying the love and security she had always deserved, far from the fear and neglect of her past.
