When puppies are really small, it can be pretty easy to mistake them for something else. You might think it’s one breed, but it turns out that the truth is different.
As they grow up, they start developing features that resemble other breeds, and this can lead a lot of owners to think they adopted the wrong dog.
I mean, sure, it happens, but that doesn’t mean anything. Mistakes like this can happen to anyone, and that doesn’t make these furry companions any less adorable.
What happened to this family was something similar. They initially thought they were adopting two Cane Corso puppies, only to realize that they were actually something else.
Well, Isn’t That A Surprise?

When a family from California first took in their two Cane Corso puppies, there was not a hint of suspicion about what they could be.
Maya Pugh suspected that her parents might have adopted the wrong dogs because the puppies started showing traits that resembled another breed.
She and her parents started questioning this fact at first. They got the dogs from a reputable breeder who told them that the puppies were Cane Corsos.
Did they lie? What was the truth? At first, Maya posted a video about them on her TikTok channel, and people thought that they looked like Black Labradors.

However, that was not the answer the family was satisfied with. They decided to do a DNA test on them to be completely sure.
The test revealed that the puppies were actually more than that. The puppies were a Rottie mix, Lab mix, Doberman mix, Bully mix, and somehow “horse mix.” I don’t know what that means.
They came from an accidental litter, and the breeders offered to take the dogs back, but the family refused.
They already loved them so much, and there was not a chance that they would be separated from them. They just wanted to know the truth, and now they do.
Many Reactions Online

After the family from California posted a video that revealed their breed, the internet was left in complete shock. Many people shared their thoughts in the comments.
One person commented: “Why do ya’ll always immediately assume they’re going to a shelter? Just bc they’re not breeded correctly doesn’t mean there won’t be a happy and loving family to take them.”
I think it’s important to clarify this. The family has no intentions of sending the puppies back. They are more than happy to have them in their lives.

Another person said: “This happened to me last year we had what we thought was a Canne/pit mix after months of his being smaller the owner told us it was a Canne/dasch (wiener dog)”
Yeah, things like this definitely happen more than people think. Sometimes, it’s the breeder’s fault for not telling the truth. Other times, it’s just an accident.
Lastly, somebody commented: “So my guess is Doberman lab cane corso mix they are beautiful. To the parents I’m sorry people are being so negative.”
Well, this person guessed some part of it. It’s funny how the truth is really different, and these pups are just so much more than one breed. Still, they have a loving family who cares for them deeply, and that’s all that matters.
