Tears As Texas Family Returns Dog To Shelter Just 24 Hours Later For ‘Crying Excessively’

Boo was a tiny newborn who once lived on the streets with her mother and littermates.

When Animal Control found the family, they brought them to a shelter for safety. Sadly, after being placed together in a kennel, Boo’s mom refused to accept her puppies and even lashed out at them.

Too young to understand they’d been rejected, Boo and her siblings longed for their mother’s warmth and comfort.

Since they needed constant, round-the-clock care, the shelter reached out to Compassionate Canine Society, a home-based rescue in El Paso, Texas, for help.

Boo Finds A Foster Home

The rescue took in three puppies from the litter and immediately began bottle-feeding them every two hours, keeping them warm and safe.

At first, everything seemed to be going smoothly — but after a week, Boo became ill. She was rushed to the vet, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia and given antibiotics.

A few days later, her siblings, Sulley and Mike, also fell sick. The vet feared they might not survive.

But the rescue staff refused to give up. They poured love and attention into the pups, and slowly, the little ones began to recover.

As they grew stronger, their unique personalities began to shine. Boo showed herself to be a bit of a loner, often sneaking away to quiet corners to enjoy some peace.

Once the puppies were ready, the rescue began searching for forever homes. Boo soon caught the eye of a woman who wanted to join the rescue’s “Foster to Adopt” program. The plan was for Boo to spend two weeks in her new home before the adoption became official.

The team was thrilled, believing Boo had finally found her happy ending.

Another Disappointment

That joy was short-lived. Just one day later, the woman called to say she wanted to return Boo because she cried too much.

The staff reassured her that returning Boo was fine if she wasn’t the right fit, but they couldn’t help feeling sad for the little pup. They knew she simply needed time to adjust and missed her siblings.

That evening, Boo was brought back to the Texas rescue — but the team was shocked to see she had a bump on her head. Luckily, it wasn’t serious, and the swelling quickly went down.

Despite the setback, Boo didn’t let it dampen her spirit. She resumed playing and enjoying life at the rescue, as if nothing had happened.

Fortunately, interest in adopting Boo remained high, and she has since moved into another foster-to-adopt home.

This time, everyone is hopeful that Boo will finally get the loving forever family she’s been waiting for. After such a rough start in life, she truly deserves to grow up surrounded by safety, joy, and care.
