Family Discovers Unexpected Feature In Their New House In Texas

Buying a new house is one of life’s biggest events, alongside graduation, marriage, and having a child. Naturally, everyone wants to know exactly what they are getting and hopes to avoid any unwanted surprises.

Kayla and her family shared this mindset when preparing to move into their new home. Yet, shortly after settling in, they discovered a feature that had not been listed when they purchased the property.

Surprisingly, they were far from upset about it.

A Surprising Discovery In Their Home

When Kayla and her family first noticed this unlisted part of the house, they were slightly surprised.

However, in an Instagram video posted on her profile, @wanderlustkyla, it quickly became clear that it was, in fact, the “best part” of their home.

The video begins with footage of Kayla’s child enjoying a swing in the backyard. Just when it seemed the scene couldn’t get any better, the next clip immediately changed that impression.

It shows the child standing near a hole in the fence. The hole itself is not the story’s highlight; what follows is.

Through the hole, the head of a neighbor’s dog, Stewie, pokes out. This hole allows him to watch the neighborhood and greet those nearby.

Although some might find it unusual, Kayla and her family, especially the children, were delighted to have a furry neighbor who says hello daily and keeps an eye on them.

In the Instagram caption, Kayla explained that the hole existed before Stewie used it.

“For those wondering, the hole was there when we moved in! The previous owner said it was for a sump pump and that was before Stewie lived there.” she wrote.

The Video Captured Hearts

The video also shows that the family’s cat interacts with the furry neighbor, although not as enthusiastically as the children.

The clip quickly gained attention and many viewers left comments. Some highlights included:

“Paint a flower so Stewie can be a flower!!!!” one user wrote while the other commented: “I mean seriously. How awesome is that!!!”

The third quipped: “You’re lucky it wasn’t in the listing, otherwise the bidding would have skyrocketed! 🐶”

Part of the money saved because this “best part” was not advertised is now being planned for a good purpose.

“We are looking into making a door for him!” Kayla added at the end of the caption.
