Although his breed wasn’t entirely disclosed by the Wisconsin shelter, Jake, a supposed “American Bulldog,” instantly captured his new family’s hearts.
Maggie Wright, her brother Renae, and the rest of the family embraced this striking boi as a new member — and it turned out to be one of their best decisions. Jake was sweet, affectionate, and a true companion.
Still, the family wanted to confirm his breed and settle any lingering doubts once and for all. Thinking they might be only slightly off about his bloodline, they decided to DNA test Jake.
And then, came a real shocker!
Surprising Results
Is he a mutt? Or one-hundred-percent American Bulldog? This was the dilemma the Wright family was facing at the moment, not even doubting Jake could be something completely different.
Based on his body shape and Bulldog look, Maggie and Renae were almost certain that Jake’s DNA would confirm their suspicions, or at least be close.
Boi, were they wrong!
In a viral Reddit post reading: “Whelp, we were wrong,” Maggie revealed shocking DNA test results.
Jake was not an American Bulldog at all. He was one-hundred-percent American Pit Bull Terrier.
Well, this was unexpected.
Before long, everyone was talking about Jake’s DNA results, mostly expressing their astonishment. Although he was clearly a bully breed, this big boi’s appearance was deceiving.
“I was bracing to be surprised that he wasn’t a pittie. I can see why you guessed American Bulldog too though,” one user commented.
“Wow, no American Bulldog? That’s wild. That’s the most American bulldog looking pit I have ever seen,” another added.
While many users focused on Jake’s DNA test results, some admired his striking beauty in the comments: “Those eyes just rip into your soul don’t they? What a sweet baby Jake is.”
Jake Is One Hundred Percent Sweetheart
From the moment Jake was brought from the Humane Society of Burnett County in Wisconsin to Maggie’s home, he’s been nothing short of amazing.
Despite his “deceiving look,” nothing else about this sweet dog is deceiving. He’s a gentle giant who loves his family the most, and he’s been proving it ever since his arrival.
Jake, who some people jokingly see as a Chance from Homeward Bound, a popular movie, is people-oriented, has a great way with other canines, and loves snuggling on his cozy bed.
And now, with his DNA finally confirmed, his bond with the family has only deepened, if possible.
Now knowing who he really is, the family can put their doubts to rest. But the truth is, nothing has changed in how they perceive Jake.
This beautiful Pittie remains the family’s sweetheart, the center of their attention, and the best bud in the world. As he always was!
