Life in Florida has been nothing short of amazing for Mav. After moving there with his mom, Melissa, he quickly became a favorite in the community – all because of one shared passion: running!
For some reason, run club turned into Mav’s happy place. He loves going with his mom and soaking up every moment.
Each morning, Melissa calls out to him to “get ready,” and Mav instantly loses his mind with excitement. He leaps out of bed, grinning from ear to ear, already knowing what comes next.
Once he puts on his special running gear and watches Melissa lace up her shoes, he bolts for the car – ready for the adventure ahead.
For Mav, every run feels brand new. The joy he gets from the run club changed his life and his mom’s, too. It’s where they built friendships and found their community.
“Going to run club really has changed my life,” Melissa told The Dodo.
Mav – The Greatest Wingman
Mav lives for the energy of the group.
“As soon as the leader of our run club grabs his megaphone and starts getting people in the huddle, that’s when we start to get feral. He just cannot control himself at the run club. He forgets all of his manners,” Melissa said.
He doesn’t care how goofy or wild he looks. He’s too busy spreading joy and making everyone laugh.
Even better, Mav helps his mom connect with people. Melissa sometimes feels nervous about meeting new faces, but Mav takes care of that for her.
“Mav is the greatest little wingman because I’m nervous to go up and meet people, and so, I have Mav who’s just running up to everybody. He’s like: ‘Hey, you’re here for me’,” Melissa explained.
Now, Mav isn’t just another dog at the run club – he’s the heart of it.
Everyone knows his name, and his cheerful personality makes him unforgettable.
“We just started to go every week, and Mav, he really started to make himself known. They welcome him with open arms. Everybody knows his name,” Melissa added.
Melissa can’t picture her life without Mav. He’s brought so much joy, friendship, and positivity into her world.
