We love dogs for who they are: four-legged, loyal, sweet, and sometimes quirky bundles of joy. But beyond that, we adore them for their unique personality traits that fill our lives with happiness.
And if one dog knows how to brighten her family’s day, it’s definitely Reese!
This nine-year-old chocolate Labrador from Georgia has been nothing but a sweetheart over the years. She is the easiest dog ever and has no secrets in her behavior, except, well, one: her unusual smile!
Reese’s owners were worried that her constant, odd grin might be a symptom of an underlying health issue. But what they discovered during two different vet exams had them laughing!
From Worried To Laughing Out Loud

Whenever Reese is excited, scared, jealous, or even resentful (you know, the “not being rewarded with a treat” kind of resentment), she “smiles!” It’s not a typical doggo smile, with her tongue sticking out and mouth wide open. It’s more of a teasing, half-smile. Or a mischievous grin.
And guess what?
Her family loves it! I mean, how can you not?

At first, Reese’s owner Emily and her husband were worried about it. Reese’s odd smile reaction became her signature response, and the Georgia family wanted to check if it was the result of a certain neurological disorder.
They visited two different vets just to be sure, and both said the same thing: the smile isn’t something to be concerned about. It’s just Reese’s personality trait!
“After two different vets, we got even a second opinion and both have agreed that it’s just a personality trait of hers,” Emily told GeoBeats Animals.
In her hilarious daily videos posted on TikTok, Reese is shown smiling at absolutely everything.
She smiles when she’s excited about getting dinner or a delicious snack. She smiles early in the morning when she knows her owners are waking up. Or, when Emily comes home from work!
Reese even smiles when her mom says her name in a silly way.
While she may look “aggressive” at first to people who don’t know her, Reese’s hauntingly adorable smile melts their hearts within a few moments.
Reese Is The Best Dog

There’s no doubt that Reese’s smile is her trademark.
But, other than that, she definitely has so many other qualities that make her the perfect companion.
“She’s a very good dog, like she is the easiest dog. I always say, I don’t know if we can get a dog after her because she’ll be hard to replace,” says Emily.

Even though she’s at the autumn of her life, Reese is still full of surprises and has an adventurous spirit.
She plays with her siblings, accompanies her mom on hikes and walkies, and enjoys her cuddles sessions on the couch.
Sometimes, Reese even spices things up a little, just for fun. A minor trash can incident now and then, or a broken vase, followed by her adorable “You got me!” smile that gets her out of a jam every time…rings a bell, right?
Hopefully, we get to see many more videos of Reese in the future! Stay pawsitive, smiling girl!
