Audray, the founder of Luck’s Rescue in Georgia, received a call about a dog left behind after her owners moved. The family had packed up and gone, leaving their pet outside in the bitter weather.
Concerned neighbors stepped in to make sure the pup at least had food and water.
When Audray arrived at the address, she found a sweet but heartbroken dog. Later named Lucy, the pup’s eyes lit up the moment she saw Audray approach.
The rescuer offered her food and quickly earned her trust. Lucy, clearly grateful, covered Audray with little kisses as she petted her.
As she got closer, Audray realized just how much Lucy had been neglected. Her fur was tangled and crawling with ticks and fleas, and the collar around her neck was painfully tight.
Despite all of this, Lucy only wanted to show affection. She rolled onto her back, inviting belly rubs and soaking up the comfort she had been missing.
Audray gently rubbed her tummy, reassuring the pup that she was finally safe.
Lucy hopped into Audray’s car without hesitation, ready to leave the cold porch behind. At the vet, she received the medical care she needed, followed by a grooming session where her matted coat was removed.
Transformed into a stunning beauty, Lucy felt lighter—not just physically but emotionally too. Surrounded by caring humans, she began to blossom.
Surrounded By Love
Soon, Lucy was welcomed into a foster home where she received all the cuddles she had been craving. Her foster mom adored her, and her foster siblings taught her the joys of living indoors.
With their support, Lucy gained confidence and learned how to feel secure again.
Her story, shared on Luck’s Rescue’s social media, touched many hearts. Adoption applications poured in from people who fell in love with her journey.
Soon after, Audray announced the best news: Lucy had officially found her forever family.
Her new parents showered her with love, and her beaming smile said it all—Lucy was finally where she belonged.
Her eyes sparkled with happiness, and it was clear she would never again face abandonment. From now on, only love and joy await her.
