He’s a Vizsla, a breed known for its strong hunting instincts and natural tracking abilities.
While some behaviors were expected, one stood out as completely unexpected. Whenever Clyde spotted another creature in the yard, he would stop in his tracks and stare. No barking. No chasing. Just complete stillness.
Clyde’s mom, Caitlin, told The Dodo: “It started with butterflies in the yard and random things around the house, like toilet paper rolls. The instincts are so ingrained in him, he does it without training!”
His family explained that Clyde had been doing this since he was a puppy. Over time, the behavior became more precise. Given his breed’s heritage, it all added up.
Sometimes, Clyde would fixate so intensely on tiny animals that it took a moment for his family to figure out what had caught his attention.

Caitlin continues by saying: “My husband was laughing that this reel went so viral because, to us, Clyde standing stock still in the backyard for minutes at a time is so normal to us we barely even notice it!”
What was once a routine moment for the family quickly became a viral hit, as viewers everywhere were charmed by Clyde’s unique behavior.
They’ve described his motionless stance as similar to “falling into a trance,” since he locks onto whatever animal he sees and doesn’t budge.
For his family, it’s not just funny, it’s also a great way to keep his mind engaged. Of course, Clyde still enjoys beach outings and energetic playtime with his humans just as much.
