We always cherish our favorite childhood memories: the favorite toy, the first time our parents took us to the beach, the first camping trip… But for dog lovers, nothing even remotely compares to the memory of our first four-legged friend.
For little Frankie, these memories are still being made with his lifelong buddy, a Golden Retriever named Beau.
Having been a member of the Derise family from New Jersey for years, Beau has witnessed everything: his mom’s pregnancy, Frankie’s gender reveal, his first crawl and steps, and his first words.
Recently, the time has come for Beau to send his best hooman bud off to his first day of school, and his reaction left the entire internet in tears!

Frank and Erica, Frankie’s parents, knew that sending their little boy off to school for the first time would be an emotional experience.
What they didn’t know was that Beau would be the one to have it the hardest!
In a heartwarming video posted on their social media accounts, Beau is captured saying bye-bye to his owners and his little brother at the foyer. While this wasn’t an unusual thing for Beau, what followed truly left the family, and the entire internet, emotional.
A while later, Erica and Frank appeared at the door with Beau eagerly waiting for them. But one crucial person was missing: Frankie!
After greeting his parents, Beau was normally used to seeing his brother too. But now, he sat in confusion, wondering where he might be.
“Leaving Frankie at school was hard…but watching Beau wait for him by the door? Heartbreaking,” the New Jersey family wrote in the video description.
Over the next few hours, Beau refused to move from the foyer, watching through the door and waiting for his little hooman to show up. He looked distressed and heartbroken the whole time, tugging at the heartstrings of thousands of people who watched the video.
“That was the longest day ever,” one commenter wrote.
“The kid must be home schooled! Beau cannot go through that again,” another added.
One person shared her very own similar experience with her dog:
“Actually crying because I remember being that age & the best part of coming home from school was always seeing dog,” she wrote.
Finally, at the end of the video, Frankie showed up, and Beau couldn’t be happier! He immediately ran up to the boy and gave him the warmest kisses. So heartwarming!
Sharing The Journey Of Life
One thing is for sure: Frankie and Beau are the best buds in the world who don’t know life without each other.
“Watching Beau and Frankie’s bond grow stronger every day is something I’ll never take for granted. I’m beyond blessed to see my two boys build such a beautiful relationship,” the Instagram post reads.
So far, they’ve shared everything. And even though Frankie’s new stage of life means he’s absent more often than Beau is used to, there’s no doubt that the two will adjust.
