Maggie’s journey to a loving home was far from easy. She and her mother, along with her siblings, were cruelly abandoned in the woods near Joplin, Missouri.
Left to fend for themselves, the little family faced fear, hunger, and uncertainty.
While wandering in search of food, Maggie accidentally fell into a ditch and became separated from the rest.
A passerby discovered the mother dog and her litter and brought them to safety, unaware that Maggie was still trapped nearby.
Alone and frightened, the small pup waited in the ditch, hoping to find her way back to her family.
A Second Chance at Life

Fortunately, another kind stranger came across Maggie and rescued her. Wanting to help, he posted her photo and story on Facebook.
When Hannah Baker saw the post, she felt an instant connection. After meeting Maggie in person, Baker knew she couldn’t walk away.
She and her fiancé decided to adopt the sweet pup and give her a forever home.
“I knew immediately she was the dog for us!” Baker told The Dodo.
Maggie adapted quickly to her new surroundings, finding comfort and affection with her new family.

She bonded closely with her parents and formed a few sweet routines. Walks soon became her favorite daily event, and she insists on going only when both of them are present.
Her Heartwarming Morning Greeting

Maggie prefers sleeping on the couch instead of in her mom’s bed. But every morning, she wakes up eager to see her favorite person.
She walks to the bedroom door and waits quietly, even though she can enter whenever she wants.

Patiently, she peeks into the room, anticipating the familiar words that start her day.
“One morning, I woke up and saw her at the door and said, ‘Good morning,’ and she jumped up on the bed and has been doing it ever since. She essentially taught herself this,” Baker added.
The moment she hears those words, Maggie happily leaps onto the bed, her tail wagging as she snuggles up beside her mom.
After her morning affection, she’s ready for another fun-filled day.
Baker loves watching this daily ritual and describes Maggie as “a very independent dog with a big personality.”

Today, Maggie is thriving in her Missouri home, spending her days playing, enjoying walks, and savoring pup cups.
Her cheerful adventures can be followed on her Instagram account, where her fans adore her loving spirit.
