Living your childhood with a furry friend is one of life’s greatest joys. You share laughter and tears, and those memories stay in your heart forever.
Yet there comes a moment when life takes you on a new path, and you have to say goodbye to your beloved companion. One woman felt that deeply when she moved away from her parents’ house in Oregon and had to leave her childhood dog.
She knew she would see him occasionally in the future, but after spending every moment with him for years, occasional visits didn’t feel enough. Luckily, her devoted little friend ensured she wouldn’t see him only occasionally, but every day.
“Uncle Stan”

A TikTok user, @lexieandunclestan, has shared many videos featuring her childhood dog, a Miniature Schnauzer named Stan. One video in particular recently drew widespread attention.
“When you move down the street from your parents house and their dog comes to see you every day…” it is stated at the beginning of the video.
As the clip shows, Stan visits her and her new family every day. She added that her children adore him and affectionately call him “Uncle Stan.”
“We live on a family farm and get to have lots of adventures. A little rain or snow doesn’t stop him from making these visits,” she also wrote.
At the end of the video, she stated that “Stan gets lots of play time, treats, snuggles and car rides!”, and that they always provide him with a ride home after his visits.
Stan exemplifies the unconditional love that dogs have for us.
His Second Home
Newsweek reached out to learn more about the special bond between this woman and her childhood dog.
She explained that Stan is a 14-year-old dog living with her parents on their family farm, enjoying life in nature. She said he loved playing with her and her friends as a teenager, and he missed the kids after they grew up.
Not long ago, Stan suffered an accident that injured his backside, leaving him unable to walk for months. Once he recovered, he resumed visiting his favorite girl and her family.

“He would take the opportunity to make these visits during the times my parents let him out for potty breaks. He would immediately just dart down the road. My mom sends me texts to look out for Stan when he is on his way. Only family lives on our street, and he travels through the fields/neighbors’ yards to get here,” this woman said.
Dogs have incredible memories for the people they hold dear, so it was not difficult for Stan to find his way to the house of his second family. That path had long been etched in his heart.
The Internet Reacts
This heartwarming story from Oregon captured widespread attention and generated numerous reactions, mostly positive. Among the many comments, a few stood out.

“This might be the CUTESTS THING IVER EVER SEEEN,” one TikTok user wrote.
“omg but imagine all the times he’s came & u weren’t home 😭😫😫😫,” another added.
And, the third quipped: “Damn that dog loves you.”
We couldn’t agree more. There is no road a dog will not cross to show love for those they hold dear. Uncle Stan is a perfect example of that devotion.
