Newton’s past is mostly a mystery. We may never know whether he was ever truly cherished or if he had known love before.

Still, the stress of shelter living took its toll. Newton was placed on anxiety medication after his nerves became too much to handle. Sometimes he grew so anxious that he would bounce off the kennel walls in frustration.

Jackie Gonzalez, a dedicated volunteer at the Fresno shelter, decided to share Newton’s story online. She posted a TikTok video showing him lying quietly on a blanket, his expression full of sadness.

The video quickly spread, capturing the hearts of countless viewers. Many people were moved by Newton’s story and expressed their hopes that he would soon find the happiness he deserved.
