Going to the vet is standard fare for a golden retriever; check-ups, petting, maybe a treat. This dog settled into the waiting room, unbothered, a familiar face in a familiar place. His owner relaxed, assuming the day would be quiet.
But when the big door opened and a new patient entered, his posture changed. He perked up, head tilted, and stared, locked on the incoming figure. Something about it startled him.
The Texas staff noticed, the owner noticed, and the recording devices were already rolling. They watched the dog as he tried to comprehend what was happening.
The moment that followed was unexpected, odd, and instantly shareable, because dogs see things we don’t always notice.
Who Is This Giant?!

When a Golden Retriever named Duncan joined his owner at work at Animal Imaging, I don’t think he quite knew what to expect.
Maybe he thought that it would just be a bunch of other people he could run around and play with, but the reality was far different.
Animal Imaging does help all sorts of animals, whether they are dogs and cats, horses, and even some exotic animals.

Because the staff at the facility needed to help another animal, Duncan was placed in a kennel. He didn’t mind it, although he did look curiously at the door.
Then out of the blue, something shocking happened. The staff brought a horse into the building who needed their help.
Duncan was completely confused. He did not know what to think. The horse was upside down. The staff brought it in for an MRI of its foot. The pup’s reaction was just incredibly funny.
A Viral Video
After the Texas owner recorded the video, it was uploaded to the Animal Imaging TikTok channel, where it went viral. It gained millions of views and so many people rushed to the comment section to share their thoughts.
One person commented: “Wait.. are vets just doing surgeries in front of the other animals?!”
I believe it was stated that the horse was brought in for an MRI of its foot, so I don’t think they operated on the horse in front of the dog.
Another person said: “The way he looked around is absolutely frying me.”

Yeah, his confusion is actually really hilarious. It’s like he’s trying to look at his owner and ask if they are all seeing the same thing.
Lastly, somebody commented: “Like, imagine being in a hospital bed and they wheel a great white shark to the spot next to you. He’s valid.”
Yeah, and especially if they wheel it in without any context. I would be confused too if something like that happened to me.
Still, the reactions of dogs to strange things will never get boring. The look on their face when they see something baffling is always hilarious.
