California Man Kept A Promise He Made To His Dog After She Suffered A Stroke And Their Story Is Really Wholesome

California Man Kept A Promise He Made To His Dog After She Suffered A Stroke And Their Story Is Really Wholesome

It’s true that our dogs are endlessly loyal and would do anything to help us if they could. This is not an exaggeration.

However, it’s unfortunate that the same feeling is not exactly reciprocated by humans. There are situations where people have just given up on their dogs.

It could be for any number of reasons, but it shows that some people really lack the dedication when it comes to owning a dog.

However, that is not the case in this story. When this man’s dog suffered a stroke, he did something that shocked the entire internet.

Endless Loyalty

When Darren realized that his dog, Little Miss, suffered a stroke, he was in complete shock. He had no idea that dogs could have a stroke.

Shortly after, Little Miss had changed completely. She was no longer capable of doing the things she loved, like playing with her siblings, Beau and Pepper.

Darren was heartbroken by this news. He had known Little Miss since she was a baby. She has been with him for over seventeen years.

The stroke made her head tilt slightly, and that sometimes made it difficult for her to eat or do things, but Darren is always there to help her.

Despite how rough the entire situation was, this changed nothing for Darren. He still sees his old dog in Little Miss and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to help her live a comfortable life.

When she needs to eat, go to the bathroom or just spend some time outside, he is always there for her. Little Miss’ siblings, Beau and Pepper, were pretty alert to her condition.

They somehow understood that she was no longer healthy and their attitudes changed completely. They now spend a lot more time napping or cuddling with her.

Little Miss’ Resolve

They even licked her face to show how much they care. They became incredibly gentle. Darren has to take her to see the vet in California at least 15 times per year.

This is a lot, but it’s necessary for her to receive checkups regularly, so that Darren is always prepared for what comes next.

He was always concerned about Little Miss feeling pain, and the vets told him that she likely only feels it from her arthritis.

So, Darren gives her specialized baths to help relax her muscles and joints and it helps out a lot. He also noted that some people think he is selfish for letting her continue living.

They assume that she is in a lot of pain, and it would be merciful to euthanize her, but Darren sees that she has so much strength and will to go on, so he hasn’t made that decision yet.

When the time comes, he will muster the strength to do that, but it hasn’t arrived yet. This sweet dog has changed his life entirely and she taught him everything he knows about love and loyalty.

Darren is hopeful that Little Miss’ story will encourage other owners with senior dogs to give their beloved furry companions more time because they deserve it.

Since she was a baby, he has sworn to protect her, and he will continue to do that for as long as he can. Their bond is truly amazing and I hope Little Miss gets to live out the rest of her life in comfort and surrounded by people she loves the most.
