One seemingly typical day, Michigan dog mom Jackie Markey came home and was met with a sight she couldn’t believe — all 30 of her pup’s stuffed animals had been dragged into the yard.
The mastermind behind the operation? Buttercup. And honestly, she wasn’t even trying to hide it. To her, it was just another fun day.
It all started when Markey’s husband, Don, installed a doggy door in their home. Suddenly, Buttercup had unlimited access to the backyard, and she took full advantage.
With her new freedom, Buttercup developed a habit. She would take one toy out, drop it in the yard, go back inside, grab another, and repeat the process.
Rain or shine, snow or sleet — none of it phases her. Buttercup’s routine continues regardless of the weather, and her toy stash? It’s massive.
The Cutest Daily Ritual
Among her many stuffed animals, her all-time favorite is a plush husky. That’s usually the first one she carries outside.
Then there’s the oversized teddy bear, which always seems to get stuck in the doggy door when she tries to pull it through. It’s comedy gold every time.
While Buttercup is devoted to her toy adventures, she’s not alone. She has a sibling named Peanut. Though they both enjoy fetch, their interests are a little different.
Peanut is more chill than Buttercup but still joins in on the fun from time to time. They’re a sweet pair, and their bond is heartwarming.
As for the mess? Markey picks up all the toys each evening, only for Buttercup to start the whole process over again the next day.
It’s become a daily ritual that Markey has no plans of disrupting. Watching her pup live her best life? Totally worth it.
