I can’t even count the number of brave mom dogs I’ve seen give everything to bring new life into this world, and help their puppies grow. Then, after their babies find new homes, these mothers remain overlooked and forgotten by absolutely everyone.
Willow, a dog surrendered to a California shelter, is definitely one of them.
Instead of finding a new beginning, Willow has been constantly overlooked in her kennel. She has spent over 220 days waiting for someone to notice her, but so far, with no success.
She’s The Only One Left Behind

Willow’s story is truly heartbreaking.
She was found tied to a pole with her three babies after her owners decided to surrender her. Thankfully, the crew at Valley Animal Center in Fresno, California, have welcomed the entire family with an open heart.
Ever since her arrival, Willow has proven to be a devoted mom. She cared for her puppies, helped them thrive, and watched them grow into healthy, happy dogs. Eventually, all Willow’s puppies went to forever homes, leaving the mom dog alone in her kennel.
“Willow raised her puppies and watched them all get adopted—now she’s the one left behind. She loves people with her whole heart and just wants a family to love her back,” the California shelter wrote on Instagram.

In the heartbreaking video posted by Jackie Gonzales, Willow is featured lying in her kennel with a depressed look on her face. While the dog is genuinely friendly and affectionate, life at the shelter has taken a toll on her.
Despite all the effort, Willow has spent over 220 days with no interest or applications.
“220+ days have passed and you’ve had zero interest, applications and meet & greets,” the video caption reads.
Ready To Start A New Chapter

On the positive note, Willow is a resilient dog. According to her caregivers, she is a versatile pup who would do great in different environments.
“Willow is a versatile girl who would thrive in many different environments—whether it’s an active lifestyle filled with adventures and long walks, or a quieter home where she can relax and soak up all the attention,” Jackie wrote in the post.
However, Willow’s ideal home would be one with no pets, as she doesn’t get along with other dogs that well. She is a human-oriented pup and would definitely make a great companion.

When the time is right, the shelter hopes Willow will find her ideal match. She is definitely ready for a change after enduring so much time at the shelter.
“With her sweet spirit and loyal heart, Willow is ready to start her new chapter and become someone’s devoted companion,” Jackie concluded.
Hopefully, her adopters are just around the corner, ready to welcome her into their home!
