Is life without drama even worth living?
If Louie, a Maltipoo from Illinois, could talk, he’d probably say absolutely not.
This charming little dog thrives on flair and theatrics, and it’s part of what makes him so lovable. Not the loud kind of drama — Louie’s style is more refined, like a seasoned soap-opera star.
His latest performance had his owner rushing to the vet, only to learn she’d been played once again.
Louie’s Latest Performance

Louie struck again.
One day, Michele Kidd, Louie’s owner, planned a car ride with her pup. But as they got ready, Louie began limping and holding up a paw. Michele panicked, thinking he’d seriously hurt himself. She dropped everything and took him straight to the vet.
What followed was completely unexpected.

After a $500 examination, the vet delivered surprising news. Louie wasn’t injured at all.
His dramatic paw lift was nothing more than a protest against car rides. He had faked the whole thing to avoid going.
“Off to the vet to check out his broken foot. $500 later… to find out it’s not broken. He just doesn’t like car rides,” Michele wrote in the post.
Relieved that Louie was fine, Michele shared the story on TikTok. She had no idea the video would go viral.
Viewers quickly chimed in with their own stories of canine theatrics.
One person commented: “I once paid £80 to discover my dog couldn’t walk because he had a leaf stuck on his paw.”
“OMG…almost same happened with us. My dog was holding her paw like that, but come to find out, it was caught on her collar,” another added.
Others simply admired Louie’s commitment to the act.
“Just needed a paw recharge for the zoomies,” a person wrote.
Louie’s Sass Is Part Of His Charm

Louie’s flair for drama makes him the star of his household. His antics are part of who he is, and Michele wouldn’t change a thing.
If he’s unhappy with a walk, Louie will bring Michele her shoes to request a redo. If he wants more food, he’ll drag his bowl over to her.
And when it’s time for a car ride? He still fakes an injury. If one paw gets tired, he switches to the other. That’s how committed he is to the role.

But Louie’s personality isn’t just about theatrics. He’s a friendly, outgoing pup who loves people and makes a delightful companion.
His charm draws attention wherever he goes.
“He absolutely loves attention from everyone, enjoys going to the park, daycare life and playing fetch. One of his favorite places is the elevator, as all the residents give him lots of belly rubs;” the Instagram post reads.
As for the drama? It’s just Louie’s way of keeping life interesting.
