Stray dogs usually like to find shelter in places where they feel no one will bother them. A lot of the time, that is in some isolated building or just a corner on the street.
However, not all dogs are the same. Some pups like to stay in odd places filled with people, and the reason why they do that is unknown.
My best guess is that the dog feels safe in human proximity and believes that it will be easier to find help that way.
Take this dog, for example. He was staying next to a busy freeway entrance where a lot of cars go by every day. As it happens, just by chance, he was lucky enough that someone kind saw him and decided to help.
He Needs All The Help He Can Get

When Suzette Hall was first notified by her friend, Denisse Maldonado, about a dog living next to a freeway entrance in California, she was shocked by this news.
The pup had been living there for over a week, and Denisse was always bringing him food. She tried to find a foster for him but noted that it was harder for a big dog like him.
However, none of that mattered to this sweet pup. He was just happy to see that somebody cared for him, and he knew that he was safe.

So, after they spent some more time searching, the two rescuers were able to secure a wonderful foster home for this cheerful dog.
Denisse and his new foster mom, Sandra Viveros Jackson, all went out to meet with the pup and take him away.
They brought a heavy trap with them because they believed it was necessary. When they arrived at the spot, they saw the pup run immediately toward them.
The Easiest Rescue Ever

He was just so happy to see them. They gave him some treats, which he really enjoyed. While he was eating, Denisse prepared her trap to get him in the kennel.
After it was done, the pup just walked inside and he was secured. It was one of the easiest rescues for Denisse, but things were not over yet.
Even though they secured a foster for him, he still needed a forever home, and that might take a while.

In the meantime, Sandra took him to her home in California and he finally got the chance to experience what it’s like to live in a warm home with someone who cares about him.
It’s hard to say what his backstory is, but one thing is for certain: he is a sweet pup who has a lot of love to give and he deserves to be with someone special.
When that will happen, it’s hard to say. So far, we don’t have any information about his adoption, but I am hopeful that everything will turn out all right for him.
