Samson’s Heartbreaking Day
Samson was one of twenty littermates rescued from the same home and brought to Benton Franklin Humane Society in Kennewick, Washington.
He was grateful to settle into the care of a loving foster family who spoiled him with attention.
Although he loved being with his fosters, Samson yearned for something permanent: a family of his own to call home.
The playful pup charmed plenty of potential adopters, but most were too far away in places like New York or Texas.
At last, a family reached out saying they wanted to meet him. Samson’s foster mom brought him to the Kennewick shelter for the big day.
Shelter volunteer Julie Saraceno was in the lobby when she met Samson, waiting eagerly for what should have been the happiest day of his life.

A week later, Saraceno came back to see Samson.
She recorded a heartbreaking video of him pressing his paws through the kennel bars, his eyes full of sadness.
She posted the clip on her TikTok account, hoping someone would see it and fall in love with him.
Her followers were touched by Samson’s story, cheering for him to finally get his happy ending.
Meanwhile, Samson’s foster family couldn’t stop thinking about him. They realized their home felt empty without him.
